Hotspot & Sooey were none-the-wiser

It has been a loooong time since I have Q’ed A-Team, so I thought I’d dig through the Backblasts to see what we did. As I was reading I thought this was a pretty good workout. Good enough to be repeated. And unless someone had a really good memory, maybe I can get away with it seeming “original.” The only two people who were there the first time were Hotspot and Sooey, and luckily they didn’t even notice. MiL loves her new Condo

Well, there goes my last excuse, time to ring that second bell. Warm-up 20 HIMs mosey through the balls. YHC thought to cause some chaos in people’s days by skipping the good mornings, but reflex took over and everyone got their good morning before arms circles and perfectly led seal claps. Thang 1 Tired of feeling the threat of dropping a rock on YHC’s head, we hit the rock pile first for three rounds of overhead presses, dollar bill pickups, and ruh-rows. [Read More]

Wild Thangs

31 posted at Apex Nature Park this morning. 16 heard YHC had the queue and chickened out of Dante’s Peak and did some sort of Soft Pax challenge or some alternate interval pull up stuff, I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but I knew we couldn’t do a Murph with Theismann commandeering the pull up bars. An Ode to Angry Elf

Two years ago today, YHC stumbled out of a slumber to visit Fred G. Bond Park in the heart of Cary. Known prior to that fateful day only as Kyle John Montgomery (save “Daddy” to a couple of kids, and “Skolnick” to a group of college buddies), this sad clown was drawn to a mysterious gathering of men, looking for a good workout…and an adventure. As soon as he jumped out of his car, he was welcomed with a warm yet equally obnoxious, “Hey, what are you doing here? [Read More]

Letting Go at Slippery When Wet

After two and a half years of posting, YHC finally got around to Q’ing. It was a glorious day for a VQ as the feel of fall was in the air and the PAX were in a jovial mood. We had 22 PAX in attendance (including 1 doing the IronPAX) and there were no FNGs. We started with the pledge and then ran to the playground-facing lot for a warm up as it was the only lit area in the entire AO beyond the bathrooms. [Read More]

See Ya!

AO: Tortoises PAX: ASHBURY, CRIMSON, EZEKIEL, FLENDERSON, FRISCO, HALF BACK, HELLO KITTY, HOTTY TODDY, INTIMIDATOR, LOOKOUT, MEATLOAF, ROASTERS, SEGA, SHUT-IN, SUPERCELL, TRAFFIC CONE, TRIPLE LINDY Today brought something that I thought was years away, my VQ. In June I connected with Liverpool at a neighborhood party and asked what he had been up to, he replied I’ll pick you up at 5am Monday and you’ll see this thing called F3. After almost tossing merlot with a Hello Kitty Q at A-Team I survived and kept coming back for more pain. [Read More]

People actually showed up

As it was the Friday of the BRR, and having not seen much activity on Slack for people planning to show up for the Rolling Stone workout, and knowing there were only moderate SCs for the only official ruck AO in all of Carpex, I really didn’t have much planned out in advance for the crew that was anxiously awaiting my arrival at 0527. That all being said, there was a surprisingly large turnout for Rolling Stone, which in fact, blotted out the Bootcampers at GT by an almost 2:1 ratio. [Read More]

3.9 miles + a boat load of stuff in between ... The things you come up with to fill 1.5 hrs

Date: 8/31/19 PAX: Cataracts, EarharT, Kermit, Lookout, Peeping Tom, Sub, Trike, WWW YHC got the honor to Co-Q with Peeping Tom (True HIM). PT approached me via Slack. We were supposed to Q The Green Mile a few weeks back but I had to take an anniversary weekend trip to beach. So, when PT asked, I didn’t hesitate to accept. Here is a learning point: we did coordinate with each other but we weren’t specific on what we were doing. [Read More]
