Time May Change Kryptonite, but you can't change Kryptonite

Oofta and YHC were especially amped for Kryptonite today, because we were the lucky two who get to take the SiteQ responsibilities for the next…ummm, how long is it? Denali and Wonderbread conveniently left that part out. The EC was on, because, well, who doesn’t want to run with the Beige Bros before a 3 mile minimum high tempo workout. We rolled back in to the launch lot with maybe 12 seconds to spare, the PAX gathered, no FNGs, we said the pledge and off we went…. [Read More]

Filling 45 minutes 3 minutes at a time

The major upside to this slow re-open is the opportunity to (relatively) last minute decide to Q previously never visited locations. Especially those that (usually) have Q-spots filled up months and months in advance. Point Break, an AO I know only as a result of the Waverly Wednesdays from a by-gone era, is one such location. I take it back…. there was that fantastic Daddy-Daughter Date-Night at Waverly last year. My daughter got dressed up in her tux, we had a fancy Chick-fil-A dinner, enjoyed a chair message and even ran into a few PAX. [Read More]

Shawshank

So it was pouring cats and dogs and with 2 minutes to go it was just the Captain and I. The plan was set…..get a little wet, take a quick selfie and call it a day. In a moments notice 3 HIMs came in on 2 wheels and foiled any thoughts of an early breakfast. We had a choice…..be some men and head for the great wide open and take on the rain, or head towards some form of coverage (although it was a good jog away). [Read More]

From Sad Clown to Now...

So 2 years ago on this date, worked out at Rush Hour I followed that up with posting at BO and SWW, so I almost did the same to Celebrate, and adding Q’ing to finish out the week. We had 16 Pax so Hermes took the new pax off for a Q school and the remaining 9 Mosey’d to the lot by the shelter for Warm-up FNGs: None EC: Lookout, Chipper, Oofta, Staubach, Bluewater and Captian Jack [Read More]

BLIMPS and stairs

Back at the beginning of the year, YHC went through and signed up to Q roughly every 3 weeks or so just to make sure he was practicing his leadership skills on the Pax of Carpex. He had totally forgot about today’s Q (until he went to add a Q on Friday to his calendar) but with the re-opening of Carpex this week, there’s no better time to Q anyway! [Read More]

THEMES...sometimes less is more

This guy! Michelob, Largemouth, Chanticleer and Blazing Banjo for a little EC. Great group of guys this morning including a FNG. A disclaimer was given, and then a disclaimer about the disclaimer was given. Today was supposed to be the day before This guy! and Michelob left for Boston to run a little road race they have there, and we had signed up to Q GT as a little sendoff. Then COVID-19 happened and so… but we decided to Q anyway. [Read More]

Switch-A-Hoo Take Two

After Yahoo’s switch-a-hoo (Shut-In coined term) last week I had to return the favor due to him being out of town. Arrived early and hid my mini-van containing cinder blocks in the main area. Warmup Ran to the main promenade grass area, and warmed up with: - Imperial Walkers - Sir Fazio Fwd - Seal Claps - Sir Fazio Reverse - Merkins Thang 1: Manmakers, Merkins and Swings Partnered up and grabbed cinder blocks from the mini-van. Voting Day at FWD

QIC Staubach 25 HIMs showed up for a warm Voting Tuesday at FWD. We were expecting 26 but @bagels took a dive on the EC run as it was clear that he was slightly intimidated with what was waiting ahead. We are glad its only a sprain and hope he has a speedy recovery. I was a bit nervous with the size of this group but made sure not to let them see me sweat. [Read More]

Blockade Runner

YHC doesn’t Q that often, so when I saw an opening at Point Break, I jumped on it! Pickles was supposed to have his b-day Q, but things happen, so YHC signed up and dreamed up a new exercise to experiment with on the PAX. The morning started with YHC dropping off a couple of cinder blocks at a large parking lot behind the New Waverly Place office building. Same building where my dentist’s office is located so you know I had pain on my mind already. [Read More]
