Figure Eights, PBRs, and Other Stuff

Q DATE: November 2, 2018 23 HIM for the inaugural Gran Torino Q on a fantastic November morning. The workout plan was stolen from inspired by Freydaddy’s Catalyst Q YHC posted at last week. Since Gran Torino is hi-tempo it needed to be tighten up a bit. We covered 3.7 to 3.9 miles and did some other stuff. It was several weeks ago at Full Metal Jacket when some Q (I’ll just say Hi Liter or Riptide to cover my bets) called 7’s and in a very respectful and diplomatic way, Callahan screamed out from the PAX that we’re doing them wrong. Cadence Count Cluster warm up followed by flawless Thangs

The morning may have gotten off to a rocky start but we finished strong by doing over 2 miles and honoring our beloved Bojangles Warm up 10 Good mornings, followed by 20 or so SSH’s followed by a failed attempt to do imperial walkers in cadence Thang 1 - Moseyed down to the lower parking lot and did Bojangles with Blueberries. 3 laps around the pickle with 5 burpeee’s after lap 1, 10 burpee’s after lap 2 and 15 burpee’s after lap 3. A beautifully clear day at Wolverine. 5:30 in the morning - 50 degrees. Moon is clear and stars are out. Had an aggressive plan for this morning, but 31 PAX showed up for a beatdown, so I had to adjust. I had planned for a Track & Field event, but ended up with only the track - well, I have my next Q tee’d up. We ran The Magnificent Mile - Nicknamed “The Mag Mile”. Circumsack

30+ Pax found a way to get to Bond Park Senior Center today between the hours of 0430 and 0545. Some arrived that early for #TheMaynard, others a little later for #Insomnia, and picking up the 6 were those ready for a #Beatdown or a #Vesper run. Military Time

28 strong for a #TeamFOD Q this morning. YHC has now become used to 0530 (and soon to be 0515) workouts that upon arrival there was plenty of time to stretch. Pax started rolling in but, of course, none made an entrance like Burt…yes Burt was at FOD. I think for the first time since we tried to throw Callahan a surprise baby shower, so like what, 2-3 years ago!? Anyways he came in windows down mumblin his chatter BEFORE HE EVEN PARKED HIS CAR! YHC was up early this morning, looking forward to a Beaker Beatdown. It was a calm, dark, and misty morning at Phoenix as I prepared for my (solo) virgin Q, it also kinda served as an unofficial “kickoff” of VQ week, which will officially begin on Monday. As expected the butterflies were stirring and the adrenaline was flowing, but I was definitely ready!
