Bear Crawls and Lunge Walks and Crab Walks, Oh My!

It’s not everyday you have the opportunity to take charge at Carpex’s only AO to completely ignore copyrights and trademarks in its inaugural T-shirt….actually, it’s only Fridays. But every Friday, so I guess it’s less special than I thought. I hope that’s not how the PAX felt about the Q today. Beaker’s Beginnings **(The Warm-Up) **At 0545, we synchronized swatches and were off. We left the Stoners to their thing. Jog to the back of the school, through the refreshing mist of the sprinklers, to the top path for warm-ups. [Read More]

First Q After VQ Week

Sometime during VQ week, I noticed that the Kryptonite spot was open for the following week. Boom, chicken soup. Got it. 17 others showed up, and most of the pre workout discussions centered on how no one feared my Qs anymore. 17 is more than I am used to. I would set my PAX over/under at 10.5. And i have had a few last minute fill ins Qs the have upped that to double digits. [Read More]

BRR Training Barkley Style

The hills at Danger Zone are intense! Having done a few BRR training runs there last year, I knew it was time to get back. When I saw the open Q spot, it was a sign that I must share the love. YHC pre-blasted the plans Thursday on the Slacks, so everyone could see the big idea. I know that DZ is not a high tempo workout, but would resemble that on this day. [Read More]

Exicon ABC

43 in attendance. 3 Ruckers, 16 Bootcampers, bunch of runners including those that ran the Maynard. What a way to start off “hump day”…in the doom and gloom of SNS. I am starting a series called Exicon ABC. We will be using exercises from those three (or sometimes 4) letters of the alphabet until we complete the alphabet. Today was ABC. Warm up Abe Vigoda Alternating shoulder taps in a plank position Annie (Arm circles from a plank position) Thang 1 [Read More]

Biner Hops

OK, this is getting strange. I don’t Q that often, but the last 4 out of 5, there has been some sort of Carpex 2nd F late nite event the night before my Q (just to be clear, late is def past 10:30 for me). Last night was no exception. After work I get couple texts from some of the Carpex boys, “You want to go see a movie”? 7 p,m. [Read More]

Grab your water bottles

The news went out the day before that the Green Mile was going to be run intensive but PUT6 friendly. Ten other men accepted the challenge and both their intensity and friendliness was on full display. Six for a 3 mile EC run (YHC, Michelob, Denali, Sub, Largemouth, Chanticleer) Running shoes remained on, some shirts were changed, and water bottles were grabbed. Parking lot Mosey tour then circle up. **Warm-Up [Read More]

Sleep Training

Late Sunday night (like 9 PM) I noticed that there was a Q change. Sir Joseph Smith Esquire was in the throes of sleep training and needed someone to take his Q. Pet Sounds undoubtedly pulled the short straw from the PAX at the Sublime concert and would be our substitute Q……………what could go wrong??? I mean the concert was at Koka Booth, just sleep in your BFT, set your alarm for 5:25 and figure out the rest. [Read More]

FEW-kway

19 PAX, including some strong mother-ruckers, gathered round the flag at Green Hope Elementary in search of their morning Fs. It was a chatty group, so while the ruckers headed off on their journey, the rest of us moseyed around the trail to the other side of the big athletic field. But first, Hi-Liter met the challenge of reciting the mission of F3. The disclaimer was referenced, and allegiance was pledged. [Read More]
