FUN!!!

Since this is my one year anniversary backblast I’ll start with some of the mushy stuff. It will probably be longer then the Muggo but shorter then a Callahan Christmas speech. So over a year ago my M was at a continuing education class and some guys she knew from Raleigh were talking about F3. One of them who had only gone to one workout and quit was complaining about how early it started and how many push-ups they had to do. [Read More]

Countdown

In the interest of full disclosure I have to admit that I had totally forgotten that I signed up to Q A-Team. Originally I had this planned for my rest day of the 1-Year Anniversary Q Week, but guess I signed up at some point so who needs rest days anyway. So in coming up for a workout I thought of some of the good ones I’ve been to at A-Team over the last year and realized they were a lot of different spots so why not try to tour the whole area. Impromptu Q

YHC was a bit groggy rolling into Claymore, looking forward to a thorough Riptide beatdown to wake up. Site Q fail right off the bat, as Frisco had to abruptly leave town to deal with family health issues and YHC had not acquired the shovel flag. Nonetheless, the PAX all stood in a loose circle looking expectantly for Riptide’s signature truck to come rolling in. Quick look at the Steve shows that it’s 5:45 and everyone is expectantly looking at YHC. [Read More]

May the 4th Be With You - Almost (Chewie's VQ-ish)

Roughly a week ago YHC approached Kwik Stop and was like, “Hey Dude, want to come-up with a workout and Co-Q? at Tin2Iron?” In which the response that I heard was, “heck yeah” (or something like that…). So here we are. I woke-up at 3 a.m. with some major sciatic pain which helped me remember I forgot to charge the surround sound system for today’s beat down which still died in the middle of the workout and I had to plug the speaker into my vehicle. When Sargent Squatter Came to T2I

Seeing Ausfahrt you might think “Wow, that guy is so lazy, he never runs anywhere”. But while lazy may be true for his personal hygene when it comes to working out the guy is tough as nails. Some of the newer guys may not know his story. Not long ago he was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a truck (I think it was a half-ton truck, too! [Read More]

Classic TV Land

I may have shared this before (probably with Cally for a The Muggo bit) so pardon the repetition. When I came to the US at seven years old, I knew somewhere between one and four words of English and my parents were only moderately more fluent. Lucky for me, this is a great country with great people, great teachers and great institutions of learning. And even greater television. I am pretty sure between the fall of 1983 and the summer of 1985, I watched 2,148 hours of television. [Read More]

Last one at 40!

YHC had originally signed Two Factor up to Q this morning, but he was still recovering from his back hurting so it was only appropriate for YHC to lead. Today was my last F3 workout in my 40s since my birthday is right around the corner. Without a great plan in mind for today, it worked out pretty well. Everyone seemed to get their money’s worth! Gather at the flag, disclaimer for the FNG, quick pledge, and off we go! [Read More]

Beat, but worth it.

Not sure if anyone reads the backblast any longer, but it is important to document what went down this morning at Dazed and Confused at Apex Community Park. YHC and Crimson arrived around 5:24 and found a light crowd. Hanson, Mohawk, and Revere came in from a jog around the lake and we found Bubba and then Kiwk Stop. With about 90 seconds to spare, Two Factor arrives from him OYO EC run. [Read More]

Second Verse Same as the First

As Pickles always says “Preparation H is key”. So to impress my junior site Q I made sure my weinke was laid out by my keys last night. Driving in to Claymore I felt great, I was back out in the Gloom, I had successfully Q-ed HB yesterday with a modified version of one of my COVID lockdown workouts, and I was heading to the premier limited run AO in Carpex on a Tuesday. A Way Back

Today was my second day back in the Gloom and my first day Q-ing in it. I had stayed strong during the lockdown virtually posting with Traffic Cone 4-5 times a week. The rest of our shield lock fell off or went back to the gloom over time but we held strong until Memorial Day. After a pretty grueling Q before the holiday I decided to take a rest day. And that was when the wheels finally fell off. [Read More]
