Four-Alarm Fire

BB 20 PAX stamped their passports and journeyed ALL THE WAY to DP on a misty, unseasonably-warm morning. YHC kept hearing something about it being a “first Friday,” and therefore cause for an “easier” workout! Yeah, right. Let the beatdown begin. The Warmup - Pledge of Allegiance at the Shovel Flag - Jog to the end of the parking lot, painting the lines along the way, run past the “field closed” sign onto the field, circle up. [Read More]

Halloween Extravaganza (F3 Style)

21 men donned their duds for the most epic beatdown Flirtin’ With Disaster has ever seen on Halloween…..ok, maybe it’s this AO’s first Halloween….but it was still epic. YHC was a bit worried about how many would show up in costume, since not everyone is on GroupMe, but the PAX didn’t disappoint at all! Grown men in full costume gathered at the FWD Shovel Flag to ogle at each other. [Read More]

How quickly..

How quickly things change. Last week, Gloom temperatures were in the 70’s and humid. This morning the PAX broke out the long sleeves and sweatshirts (some of them, anyway) for temps starting with a “4.” And that’s Freedom degrees, not in some commie temperature. The Tortoises crew had made the journey north in order to partake of the 2nd/3rdF after the workout (more on this later), so go time was even more of a goat rodeo than normal at SnS. [Read More]

The Whole 30

YHC rolled into Bradford’s Ordinary at 0525, pumped and ready to Make It A Great Thursday by starting his day off with another PAX-filled running of the 2nd Inaugural #MeowMile (a “fully sanctioned” and federally trademarked BO/Carpex EC event). At 0530, YHC became thoroughly confused when nary a PAX was in sight. Not a one. Was this the end of the #MeowMile tradition? The final chapter of a dynasty? YHC gathered his self-confidence and set off by his lonesome for Cary’s Little Cuba. [Read More]

Merkins, Murph, Burpees.

Is there really more I need to say? I guess maybe that there were some LBCs and Freddie Mercuries sprinkled in, or that Large Mouth runs like an antelope out of control, or that my co-site Q Shank made the most amazing shovel flag ever (complete with hand-created camouflage), or that same said co-site Q provided the 20 PAX brave enough to post at FMJ with Gatorade and camo F3 koozies, or that Khakis did his best Grease Monkey impression by lacing up at 0530 on the nose. Kryptonype

Yes, there were concerns, its September 18 and the Wolverine marketing machine had been working overtime for a few weeks. Creeping thoughts as I drove to Koka-Booth, am I going to be leading myself around the lake? But alas, nine Supermen and YHC were ready to go at 5:30. Only confirms, there is more then enough fun to go around Carpex for three workouts, even on a Monday! The Warmup [Read More]

Back to School

BB 20 HIM joined YHC on a trip down memory lane–actually, it was down Hunter Street–to visit one of my favorite spots at BH. The gloom…the pull-up monkey bars…the long distance from the park…we’re talking about Baucom Elementary School’s back playground area. We journeyed there on one of my first posts at BH. Time to go back to (the) school. The Warmup - Pledge of Allegiance at the Shovel Flag - Jog to the parking lot of Lee’s Tailor Shop…backwards run for fun on the way. [Read More]

It's a numbers game......

Numbers here, numbers there. We are inundated by numbers. How fast were you driving, what was your GPA, how much did your house cost, what is your income, how much did you pay in taxes, how many times have you posted, how long have you been doing F3. Numbers are everywhere and some are good and some are not so good. Today was a celebration of numbers for Crimson. The first number of celebration was 19. [Read More]
