Help an Old Guy Out

It’s been a little too long since my last Q so I need to get myself back in the rotation. 16 strong at FMJ this morning to help get things fired up again. Temps are trending cooler so the plan was to keep everyone moving as much as possible. Things went pretty smoothly until COT when YHC realized readers are needed in order for me to see the Voice Memo app icon on my phone, because I can’t remember 16 names on my own. [Read More]

Cadence Count Cluster warm up followed by flawless Thangs

The morning may have gotten off to a rocky start but we finished strong by doing over 2 miles and honoring our beloved Bojangles Warm up 10 Good mornings, followed by 20 or so SSH’s followed by a failed attempt to do imperial walkers in cadence Thang 1 - Moseyed down to the lower parking lot and did Bojangles with Blueberries. 3 laps around the pickle with 5 burpeee’s after lap 1, 10 burpee’s after lap 2 and 15 burpee’s after lap 3. A trip to the zoo brought to you by the numbers 7 and 14

Nice warmer weather again this morning brought out 13 of Carpex’s finest to the premier skate park in SW Wake County. YHC tried to solicit some requests for the workout today - didn’t get much but decided to work in what I could 530 - time to start - a few still messing around at a truck trying to find a pair of gloves - so the rest of us went over there and did 1 burpee OYO to start. 7's and Laps

YHC’s second Q this week started with a solo EC Run on some poorly lit, no sidewalk-having roads. It reminded me a bit of the BRR…..dark…quiet….not another soul in sight. Wait, did I miss a turn? I must admit, despite the warnings from others that there’s no good EC option at FMJ, I only saw two cars on this run, and they were easily avoided. A brisk 4 miles and back in time to check out the new playground equipment, though we weren’t going to use it today…. Welcome to DanKryptoPeak

It wasn’t my intention of running a Kryptonite-style workout the day before Odyssey but from the mumble chatter, that’s what it turned out to be. I debated what I should do for today’s Q and what I didn’t want to be sore tomorrow, so I was hoping this was the right choice. According to some, I failed. PAX of 1 (YHC) for an EC run PAX of 4 for EC pull-ups. [Read More]

Circumsack

30+ Pax found a way to get to Bond Park Senior Center today between the hours of 0430 and 0545. Some arrived that early for #TheMaynard, others a little later for #Insomnia, and picking up the 6 were those ready for a #Beatdown or a #Vesper run. For those that couldn’t make it a new(ish) F3 Lexicon word was discovered by YHC during a recent 43Feet podcast. Some guys faced certain circumstances; work, family, scheduling, issues and had to fartsack. One Thang

16 pax came out to do a thang this morning… YHC has never done the Q week thing because…well because YHC doesn’t want to. It’s tiring and it’s a lot of planning and backblast writing. Yet, somehow we got where we are today. 5 b-day Qs this week (day 6 is the Odyssey, aw shucks oh well). As YHC pulls into the lot he sees 4 guys punkin him and running before the workout. Cherries and Pain Sticks

Pre-Blast This being my virgin Q and my first time at SNS, I truly appreciate all the support and advice from the PAX. Special thanks go to Angry Elf for the pep talk the night before and for planning the Thang with the pain sticks. I do wish I had made it to Q school. It is amazing how much I didn’t pick-up naturally from two months of just doing the workouts. [Read More]

Milk Run

33 Pax gathered to celebrate YHC’s 35th birthday… well actually, they gathered to watch what would happen when Frisco drank a half gallon of milk prior to the beatdown. Banjo joined Frisco in the lactose challenge. Surprisingly, they were able to keep it all down during the workout. Pickles and Parker got in some EC merkins and several pax got in an EC fellowship run with Half. Once the new start time of 0530 rolled around, we were off! [Read More]
