Dadgum Construction

5 pax met up for another round of beatdown in DTC led by yours truly. Weather was hot, but certainly not unbearable at all. Even got to feel some nice breezes to boot. YHC had a plan together with some tempo that would work us and get some good sweat on. Only to find out at the start of the warm up that Town of Cary had some kind of something going on involving, among other things, a giant piece of plastic blocking the path of the first thang that was to take place. Katowice meets Bialystok

Pierogi Q tour continues with a return visit to the West Side. Pulled in around 5:20, shoes still on the passenger seat, with Sky Blue sliding into his regular spot just in front of me. As I leisurely put one shoe on and then the other, I notice the Flying Circus founder is getting agitated. He’s bouncing around like I’m holding him back from something. And as I tighten my laces and put the keys in the regular hiding spot, the man is literally running away from me down the parking lot. [Read More]

Sound the ALARMs

6 pax made it out to Rush Hour, the finest place to be on any given Tuesday evening. YHC made it out a little early to scout out a couple of obscure places. So as the start closed in, everyone had gathered to do a little stretching, as Press On got in some pullups. Once 6:00 hit, a disclaimer was given, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and we were off! [Read More]

A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall

The Steve showed a cloudy start to the day, but small chance of rain until later. The Steve was wrong. Nine PAX were at the flag when the clock struck 0530. A very short and poorly delivered disclaimer was given, then we started. Warm Up SSHs, then warm up mosey to Kelly Road Park for Sir Fazio arm circles, Seal claps, Steve Earles, and CF Merkins. Thang 1 Get a partner for a traditional vanilla DORA. [Read More]

Talking Myst in the Mist

Picking up and hanging with Capt Kirk is always a treat. He is a mumblechatter master. Put him in a workout together with Horatio and you have F3 Gold. Such it was this afternoon at RushHour. A fine mist (more on this in a bit) hung in the air as I called up the dear Captain to make sure he was indeed up for a DTC beatdown. Come 1740, as I pull up to his house, Kirk is on the phone with a friend (that infamous one-hit-wonder Spock, it turns out) lamenting the fact that it’s raining. [Read More]

RESPECT

This Guy! Largemouth, Denali and Wonderbread for some EC laps around the AO. Today is a perfect example of never giving up on your dreams. I’ve waited for this day for 50 years and it finally happened. You see kids…. Great group of defiant HIM this morning for an early rollout of Phase 2. We ran, circled up, and celebrated the day of my birth with 5 Good Mornings; 19 Steve Earles; and 70 (IC) SSH. [Read More]

Return of the Deck

The evening finally came for the grand reopening of Carpex’s original evening AO, and it felt so good to be back! 10.5 pax came out to get their beatdown on. (because two 2.0s=1.5… which kept us “under the 10” mark) …ok fine it was 11 overall, but who’s counting? Either way, it was a big crowd for Rush Hour. And it was awesome to see! Ok, with that out of way, YHC started off with the mission statement and the Pledge of Allegiance. [Read More]

Last Year as a Hate

4 Pax showed up to the gloom for YHC’s birthday beatdown, which will also be my last birthday in my twenties. So after we arrived and caught up till start time, we started to say the pledge. But Yogi ended up jumping in and (paraphrasing) pledging to Jesus as our only Lord and King! We decided that we couldn’t have said it any better, so with that we were off to the Community Center parking lot for warm up. [Read More]

B.L.I.M.P.S./B.Y.O.C.&C.

YHC and Largemouth for 5.2 miles at a conversational 7:30 pace. Don’t worry everybody, we figured it all out. Franklin, Badlands & Sooey for a crowd control 5 mile run of their own. 8 socially-distant PAX set out for a traveling warm-up **Warm-UP **Moseying from the flag to the baseball field parking lot we stopped along the way for Good Mornings, Windmill, Steve Earles, SSH, and Mnt. Climbers. **Thang One [Read More]
