Another Soggy Tuesday

Something about Tuesdays this year…wet has been the rule of thumb…At least when YHC has posted in the am rather than the ever popular PM Rush Hour. No matter though, as 20 hard cores were there when YHC showed to do some work. Some new faces taboot. The inflow continues and that is a good thing. Pet Sounds let YHC know it was time and with that we ran up the hill to the top parking lot on left. [Read More]

N-M-S, and Politics as Usual

NMS You may think YHC is suffering from the winner’s dilemma: coming off a glorious victory and having to immediately ante back up. He’s spent all his physical, mental, and emotional energy just having been the greatest ever. He bottled lightning, there is no way to follow that. The people want more, the game is on the line, but his knees are weak, palms sweaty, and he’s wondering what in the hell he has left to give. Your Lucky Day!

YHC signed up weeks ago (months even?) to Q at the infamous Field of Dreams. Lots and lots of real estate, a multitude of options, what could go wrong? And still. There it was Monday night at 10pm…what to do, what to do? Quick message to the site Qs confirmed my fears…my lack of knowledge of the AO would be a hindrance. So, go with what you know, amirite? In efforts to kickstart my metabolism[i], I tossed a last-minute “EC” option out there. [Read More]

"Hey Cally, did you see that rainbow?" (x 12)

Beautiful morning for a workout, eh? Six men showed up for a quick 2.25 mile EC run around parts of Cary I’ve never seen before. Back at the parking lot with plenty of time, the rest of the PAX started pouring in one after the other. All in all, a total of 25 men showed up in the gloom to push themselves and their brothers to put in some hard work. [Read More]

Jackpot!

YHC had been traveling all week, obliquely aware of the goings-on in CARPEX. Something about boats and canoes. Multi-packs in progress. Whatever. After a reverse taper week with one measly run, plus missing EC due to alarm difficulties, I was ready to get after it. Warm-up Run to the ball park lot and circle up for SSH, MC, GM, windmills. Sir Fazio x10 - hold - overhead clap x20ish - hold - moroccan nightclub - hold - hold - pause - hold - Sir Fazio reverse. [Read More]

Ask and You Shall Receive

After wrestling the Q away from Hotspot, picking up Biner and seeing no bat-signal at PBX’s, YHC rolled into a darkened Apex Nature Park. On the way in, we passed a group of runners (the usual suspects) – Hotspot, Michelob, Pet Sounds, and Old Maid. As we gathered in the gloom, Pet Sounds mentioned that he would like something a little run-lite since we’ve logged so many miles in F3 this week. [Read More]

Good Afternoon

3 men posted on a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon. Special time with special men I say. Not the circus and hoopla that is SNS at Bond. No sir. This is get to know your fellow pax time and this guy likes it. With only “seasoned vets” in attendance this day, no need to worry about Thursday night players. No sir. With that the 3 veterans took to the streets and moseyed near the Mayton Inn for a light warm up. [Read More]

Flood Zone - Carpex version

Some large number south of 40 PAX assembled at the Senior Center for SNS/Vesper on a beautiful dry morning, with no concerns about the park flooding. One FNG care of Moore from Churham and after the disclaimer, we are off. Brisk run through a short greenway path to the Community Center. Warm Up SSX x 20 GM x 10 IW x 15 Sir Fazios x 15 Compass Merkins x 5 at N,E,S,W,N,W,S,E [Read More]

Field of Streams

9 of Cary/Apex’s most committed men and 1 guy who had signed up to Q made their way to Field of Dreams on this wet morning. Given the 48 hour downpour, YHC had to leave a bit earlier than usual this morning in fear of literally coming on 2 wheels. YHC strongly considered a morning of splashing on the turf but for the sake of the town of Cary and possibly a bit of mercy on my brothers, a sheltered morning was prepared. [Read More]
