Anniversary Week aka WWW

Water Wings Week began on a clear, cool morning at the infamous A-Team AO. This roughly marks my One Year Anniversary, but since I couldn’t remember the actual date, I’m Qing the whole week for prudence sake. 18 brave HIMs met at the gate while watching Mr Parks and Rec unlock the gate 2 minutes too late for the PAX to drive into the park. 5:45 ticked and YHC lead the PAX to the 2nd parking lot on the right for a little warm-up with SSH, Cotton Pickers and Imperial Walkers. 11/21 2.4 mile string of pearl

19 pax for a 2.4 mile loop stopping at about 5 spots for some pain stations. Joe Smith led us for some Homer to Marge work at the LDS parking lot. We did some pull ups at the playground, a 10 count down the line inverted sunrise over US1, we finished with some one-arm merkins at the flag. Great work men! Dice gave us some great guidance on what F3 means to him. [Read More]

Mutant Ninja Tortoises

It was an honor to lead 13 Stallions/Clydesdales for a “limited run” workout. Just one for the Mutant Mile EC, nice jog to BH and back. The Warm Up: Follow me for a fast 25 yard run to circle up in the parking lot for some typical warm up stuff including SSH, GM, Hill Billies, Sir Farzio Arm Circles/reverse to get those shoulders loose, take a break to get some gloves for Ascot. Busto di Glutei

BB 11 PAX brought their workout clothes to work (or hurried home to change) and met YHC on the Ambassador Loop for a “sans-winkie” Q. Let’s do this. The Warmup - Pledge of Allegiance at the Shovel Flag - Jog around the parking lot, painting the lines along the way, circle up for warm up - Happy Jacks; Cotton Pickers, Crabjacks; Wide-Grip SLOW Merkins; Imperial Walkers; Wolverines (of course) - Run to the deck, grab a pain stick [Read More]

#MeowMile and #MerkinMonday

YHC pulled up to your neighborhood Food Lion with windshield whippers a’whipping thinking, “this could suck.” But, alas the rain broke and a top-notch Monday was underway. The #MeowMile was converted to the #DiscoDash as a pair of feathered felines headed towards the premiere AO in Apex on a Monday at 0545. After a lovely stroll to the gate, YHC and the Duckman were met by 10 additional Lions, and with Ma-Bell amongst the PAX the promise of #MerkinMonday would hold true. [Read More]

RESPECT Ladders

Pulling into the Senior Center (an apt place to start for RESPECT Week, as so many pointed out - hardy har har), I could tell there was 24K magic in the air. Someone brought a Wal-Mark special fishing rod, an obvious nod to YHC’s fishing prowess. Some PAX were already sweating from Insomnia; some were sweating the impending beatdown they were about to receive; some took the easy way out and Vespered their way out of a beatdown; some rucked because, you know, running sucks and walking’s not enough. The Dirty Dozen

Six HIM showed up for the Kitty-less #meowmile. Well, five showed up to run, one accidentally showed up early and joined us just to be friendly. And at the turn-around Kitty made a cameo to say Hello When we returned our numbers had doubled to an even Dirty Dozen. Perfect for partnering up. Warm-Up Hustle around the back of the church and circle up in the tire shop parking lot for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, merkins, plank jacks and Sir Fazio arm twirlies. [Read More]

Bayside High School Is Awesome

I love @jeremyfoland sending out the weekly “Who’s Qing” tweet because about every 4th week or so I look and say, “Oh, I’m Qing this week.” And speaking of Hotspot, we’ll get back to him a little later. Good crowd of 21 PAX today, including 2 FNGs from out of state. The FNGs came with Grease so I knew they’d be athletes and were probably use to being in action. Gave the disclaimer and we were on our way. BOMBS around a Campfire

Ever since it’s gotten so that it stays dark well past 6:30, I haven’t seen many groups venture into the gloom murk pitch blackness that is North Cary Park. To hell with that - this is @F3DangerZone! So I set up a very cute campfire in the field to entertain the troops. After making sure everyone who wanted one had a headlamp, we’re off.
