The Push

Goal: To Push Everybody Monday of Carpex Respect Week I had never Q’d a running workout, so this was a test for me. All of my other Q’s were at Tortoises or Hells Bells or Tin2Iron - all low to no running AOs. Not known as a runner, this would be a challenge to me. So I put together a few pearls on a string to get more than a mile in. [Read More]

Three

YHC celebrates Three Years with F3 today. I had to Q, and Tortoises - where I used to be site Q - was the perfect place for it. My pre-blast promised Threes, Burpees, Merkins, and Music. We accomplished that. Left Cheek and I pulled up at the same time. I hadn’t met him before, but I could tell immediately that he is a HIM. We talked for a few minutes, then I ECP-ed some pullups to get rid of energy before the rest of the PAX showed up. [Read More]

Angst rock

Low mileage workouts are not usually my thing. And Qing them especially not. But that’s the fun bit about the CARPEx Challenge. You get to push boundaries and explore new things. This was probably the Q I prepped for more than most recent ones. My main goal was to keep the running to 0 so lots of time to fill. Hope the boys enjoyed. EC: Went for a little run beforehand. Pickles without Pickles

Note: I put the usual Parker jokes in the beginning of the BB. Anything over 20 words he typically skips. Going way too fast or tapping out after just a few reps has been a problem for a while I hear. OK now we can get down to business. (Note: I’ll put the Pierogi jokes at the end because I believe his issue is false advertising of the merchandise and never being able to close the sale. [Read More]

Music Delete

The best plans often go astray. Today was a lesson in adapting to a failure in my pre-blast: I planned Music, Merkins, and Mumblechatter. Good on two of those. A recent Andriod 11 update rendered my usual music playing app useless. In hindsight I should have tested this the night before. Lesson learned. The PAX were disappointed by the silence. I tried to figure out how to stretch the workout because I planned a nice, new thang to a song. [Read More]

A Very Vanilla Celebration of 3

Yep, it’s been 3 years of F3 for YHC. I decided to keep this low key, not Q every day of the week, but do a single anniversary Q at the site where I started. My 3 year F3 journey has been epic - I’ve grown in ways I couldn’t imagine. Not just physically but emotionally and in how I relate to and lead others. F3 truly is leadership training thinly disguised as a men’s workout group. [Read More]

Yesterday's mission, today!

Last week I was in a COP with Repeato, and somehow Chumbawumba’s earworm Tubthumping came up. He said “oh yeah, you can do burpees to that song.” It inspired me to cook up a Q where we did the three musically-synced workouts that immediately come to mind. I figured my birthday Q would be a good time to debut this. I was a little aggressive on the “filler material” yesterday, and we only got one song in, much to Hotspot’s disappointment. [Read More]

No excuses

This week has been crazy. I am a day late in writing my backblast. Monday I found out one of my work friends died over the weekend. My volunteer work has picked up. Deadlines in my day job. And yet Crimson brought up the fact that Tortoises didn’t have a Q and I felt compelled to put my name on this Q sheet. I did not really plan the workout. I did not have the time to do it. It Was All Cauliflower's Idea

Picasso is credited with saying, “good artists borrow, great artists steal”. Whether Picasso coined that phrase is under debate, but I believe the sentiment to be true. I got this idea from Cauliflower at Rush Hour and expanded on it a bit. Started with the pledge and mosey. Warm Up Good Mornings Elevator Merkins Imperial Walkers Runner’s Stretch Sir Fazio Forward Seal Claps Sir Fazio Reverse Only Thang All PAX grabbed a bell and a cinder block. [Read More]

Iron 2 tin ... Need of a reboot

Date: 7/16/20 AO: Tin2Iron PAX Ausfarht, Intimidator, Shipyard, Sosa, FNG 3 Finger Salute (TFS), WWW My schedule changed for 14 days which caused me to be at work no later than 0630. So, I have to leave at 0530 to get to Alamance from Cary. After no making it to the gloom those weeks other than a Saturday, I needed a reboot to get back into my normal rhythm. I got back to my normal schedule on Wednesday so I went to Tortoises to get a beatdown by way of Crimson. [Read More]
