Memorial Day Beatdown: In honor of 1st Lt Roslyn L. Schulte

Memorial Day is a holiday to honor this who served in the Armed Services and have paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting our nation and the nation’s interest worldwide. I also want to honor our first responders who also made the ultimate sacrifice. On this day we honor 1st Lt Roslyn L. Schulte. Lt Schulte was serving as an Intelligence Liaison whose mission is to teach our Afghan military allies to gather and interpret intelligence data/information. [Read More]

RESPECT

This Guy! Largemouth, Denali and Wonderbread for some EC laps around the AO. Today is a perfect example of never giving up on your dreams. I’ve waited for this day for 50 years and it finally happened. You see kids…. Great group of defiant HIM this morning for an early rollout of Phase 2. We ran, circled up, and celebrated the day of my birth with 5 Good Mornings; 19 Steve Earles; and 70 (IC) SSH. [Read More]

Return of the Deck II

YHC read Kermit’s Rush Hour BB yesterday and thought it was time to bring out a slightly different version of the deck. Funny story first though. Yesterday YHC posted to the Cary Cartel channel an optional to EC before BH to work the Hillz challenge. Plan was to meet at the bottom of the Shepherd’s Vineyard segment and run in then do another repeat on the way back. No one smashed the HC button so I wasn’t expecting anyone so I was very pleasantly surprised to see two cars in the parking lot at 0505 when I pulled up. Dusting the rust off

Well, F3 Carpex is back open, which is great! YHC has been posting fairly regularly throughout the past couple of months, but the one thing he hasn’t done is Q. Well, with the limit of gatherings to 10 people or less, when 20 people showed up for Hello Kitty’s 3 year Annie Very Sorry Q, the pax needed to be divided. Instead of letting Hermes Q his 73rd workout over the past 2 months, YHC stepped up and took the lead. [Read More]

Boy Band Bullpen

Most call it a shield lock - others call it a boy band, but one thing is clear. When your fellow boy band member calls you in from the bullpen due to being placed on the temporary disabled list, you step up. Hamm may appear to be invincible and has often used the motto “You can’t hurt steel,” but he does pull up limp from time to time despite all of that. [Read More]

Triple scoop of Dora-tabata

17 Pax decided to Q shop and ended up at the POGL’s finest downtown AO, Disturbing the Peace this morning. YHC stayed up way too late last night finalizing my plans for the Q today. It was planned out to the minute. No fng’s and not a minute to spare, time for the pain. Quick mosey to the church parking lot to warm up. This was timed. SSH’s, good mornings, sir fazio, calf stretch and runner stretch. [Read More]

It’s Raining Men—Blame Parker

So a few weeks back there was a pop-up FIA/F3 AO for Valentine’s Day c/o: Red Ryder and his M. It was a pleasant surprise since the standard orders I have from Shut In (and Parker, and Red Ryder, and Smokey, and Snots, and even a few guys that aren’t married) are: “Frisco, you don’t talk to my wife, you don’t look at my wife, you don’t even breathe the same air. Teaching Ponies Some New Tricks

Preamble Good thing Kittibonz posted the Q sheet on Slack Sunday or I might have forgotten I had the Kryptonite Q. Once reminded, I was all in pre-blasting my intention of throwing some blue collar beatdown on these one-trick ponies that gallop around the AO. Not to worry; I know these thoroughbreds gotta eat. That said, methinks they were all a’skeered they weren’t going to get their miles in - which is why the parking lot was unusually full of cars and devoid of PAX when the West Cary clown car arrived. Disruption

disruption the act or process of disrupting something : a break or interruption in the normal course or continuation of some activity, process, etc. There were 20 dudes who were at the AO known as Bounty Hunters, by the time it ended. Some of them were doing a run, others did the Main Event. YHC didn’t have a count of exactly who was doing what. And this backblast really won’t focus on that little detail. [Read More]

Thank Heaven for 7-11

Preamble Well the last time I worked out was the Krispy Kreme challenge almost 2 weeks ago. I’ve been doing some fantastic smart sacking (missing the 20’s and a good bit of rain) but my knee is feeling better than it has felt since July, so I was excited for this morning. But then I slept terrible, seriously, the night before the Q is like the night before a flight. I swear I wake up around 20 times to make sure I didn’t oversleep. [Read More]
