Triple down celebrations

Feb 5th. 5/2. Fifth of February. So many reasons to celebrate……it’s the 36th day of 2019 (Gregorian calendar), it’s the start of the 4716th Chinese New Year (Year of pig) and it’s also Red Ryder’s M’s birthday, who I believe was turning 21 (approximately). With so much excitement to come, YHC started the customary countdown to the start of the beatdown at 3 minutes…..eventually the clock ticked down and we were ready to go…. [Read More]

Pure Vanilla

I didn’t start out wanting to create a vanilla-flavored workout, but now that I look back over what we did, it reeks of the genus vanilla orchid. A bunch of EC HIM did running, pull-ups and other stuff. 0544 Give the Disclaimer to FNG. 0545 Here we go Mosey to the end of the parking lot where Dante Peakers like to warm up and get a little hissy if you don’t. Running off with The Circus

People go to the circus for myriad reasons: entertainment, witness the odd and curious, be stunned by magic, or savor a jalapeno-stuffed deep-fried twinkie burger. However, when it comes to The Flying Circus, only the stoutest of men dare show up to test their mettle within the Big Top. 14 PAX couldn’t resist The Circus’s allure, ignored the temps (they were so small that ignoring was easy), and performed incredible feats with the human body (I am mostly certain each PAX used his own). And then there was rain...

So it rained. No, I mean it really rained. 10 waterproof HIDA’s, including both site Q’s and the shovel flag turned out for a swimming lesson and freshen up in the gloom. Beaker (or Biner, whatever) won the prize for most nonchalant warm up and was clearly more than up to whatever volume of water fell from the sky. As we circled up, the pax reached a consensus that the worlds weather apps were espousing lies - as to a man everyone was expecting a balmy 62 degrees yet it felt more like mid-30’s. [Read More]

Supercharged, modified and sliding at FOD

A nice morning at FOD. 27 PAX made there way to west Cary to celebrate Liverpool turning 50 and earning the title of RESPECT. Just because he is now with us in the 50’s doesn’t mean he gets an easy workout. All came ready to have some fun and be challenged. Warm up Pledge Run to back of lot 1 - 5 Good mornings Run to back of lot 2 - 10 Imperial Walker with a squat in between Run to back of lot 3 - 112 Supercharged SSH (4 rounds of descending SSH. Keep Your Eyes On The Road, Your Hands Upon The Wheel

It was a beautiful morning at Hells Bells during my first kettle bell Q. I know the guys at Wolverine miss my presence there the past few months, but I have really enjoyed mixing up workouts and incorporating kettle bells. Sub and Frisco arrived early for some ECP3. 12 dudes arrived, 5:30am hit on my wife’s watch, and we moseyed to the flag to Pledge our Allegiance, then… Warm-Up Moseyed the large pickle then circled up for: [Read More]

Leading From The 6

So I’ll write my normal Frisco style HIDA BB below but after seeing Half do something at the office today I decided to put some HIM stuff first. As Half was walking down the hall he noticed a hair on the ground behind him and quickly ran back to check to see if it was one of his (it wasn’t). Still he picked it up and dropped it in a small golden case he carries. [Read More]

Powerlines

We began the workout bright and early with a strong showing of 25 HIM’s. The weather was cold and damp but none of us regretted leaving the cozy fartsack for a morning of hard work and fellowship. Warm-Up Sooey started us off with a light jog to the parking lot. SSH: 15, Good mornings: 10, Merkins:25, PlankJacks:15, Mtn Climbers:15, The Thang 1 Another short mozy down “Powerline hill”. 7’s Burpies at the top and Merkins at the bottom. [Read More]
