Just in Time Training

I still don’t wear a watch during these workouts. While it’s always good to see Biner, unless he’s Qing of course (then you just have to channel your inner Spartan warrior), he provided the necessary time checks along the way during this particularly time sensitive workout. It was only time sensitive in that we were traveling a long way from the flag and everyone likes arrive home on time. 17 showed, 2 kept Sooey company as he continues his recovery walks, so 14 of launch for a trip around the Apex Lake. 2nd Annual Bacon Run

With the Tobacco Road Half and Full Marathon approaching, the pax joined for what has quickly become an annual tradition… well at least for this second year in-a-row… a long ATT run followed by top-notch fellowship in the parking lot centered around the all-time champion of breakfast meats, BACON. Distances varied between 5-16 (based on YHC’s count), with the majority of pax locking in on that 10-mile distance. Dang near purrfect with the race coming up in 10 days. [Read More]

Figured 8

Insomnia #TheStandard, the original, the ever popular Insomnia kicked off the morning. There was even an FNG, EH’d by our bro Flacco. Due to his first post being Insomnia Callahan (the amazing Site Q) hit him with the disclaimer and we were off for a reverse Davis Drive loop…come to Insomnia to learn what that route is. Insomnia Runners: Callahan, Chinese Downhill, FNG, Flacco, Ollie, Shut-In “THE SIX” also ran their own Thang. [Read More]

7 for 7s

A select group of 7 showed up at Sovereign Grace Church early Monday morning at a site so new that it still doesn’t have a tag on the F3 Carpex web site yet. The location close to home and the allure of a high tempo workout was enough to inspire YHC to take the lead in order to continue building momentum for this new AO. Here’s what we did… Warm-Up [Read More]

Apparently Not Problematic

As YHC was making my way around the gathering PAX, I noticed that several of them were noticeably away from the shovel flag, like they wanted to leave or something. Whatever. You Vesperers just go do your thing. I’ll take the small but mighty group and go do, oh I don’t know…a bootcamp. Here’s what we did: Warmup Jog up Maury O’Dell and to the other end of Bond Park Drive (I think it is) for: [Read More]

Millennial Mayhem

‘Twas a lovely morning on the border of Cary and Apex, where Miss Laura Duncan once cooked some chard on a stone. 18 men gathered to pay tribute to the Millennial generation with a goal of 2000-count exercises: 1000 reps and 1000 meters of running. Dodging the expected deluge of rain, we had a fine time in the cool, soggy gloom…one might even say “moist.” YHC had found the Millennial workout on the Exicon and thought it would be a great way to challenge the PAX to a well-rounded beatdown. Recycled Q

When YHC performed his final posting of the Old Q summary to slack, there was an opening at one of his top AO’s. It’s been quite a while since the PAX has been subjected to a Hotspot Q, so YHC signed up before sending out a fully filled in Qlist for the week. Well, Thursday night rolled around, and there was a plan that needed to be written. YHC grabbed my dusty Weinke from the garage, and pulled out one of the many slips in there. [Read More]
