If by that you mean filled with joy...

18 PAX gathered at the most senior of all CARPEX Monday AOs to help YHC commemorate the completion of my 45th orbit. Hotspot expressed his pre-event concerns about the contents of the Q sheet, but said “at least you didn’t bring your stinkin’ speaker.” Oh, you mean the speaker sitting over by the light pole? Yeah. Good thing. For now, the speaker was to belt out some 1975 tunes. Not necessarily hits, but all 1975 releases. [Read More]

Add title

I couldn’t think of a title so I just kept what was already there. A few of us got after it a bit early for a little EC, and I saw a few guys getting a bit more after the workout. Back-in-Bounty Hunters

Prologue: A couple months ago, the Bounty Hunters shirt went up for sale. I’m both a Star Wars and F3 nerd, so I was all in, but I felt like I shouldn’t wear the shirt of a Carpex AO where I’d never posted. Since I’m solo Site-Qing at Back in Black right now, I needed a flag at Koka Booth, so that I could head to Bounty Hunters and check that box. [Read More]

Climb to 40" - VQ for Mama's Boy

Pre-pledge: Nature called for Snots. Fortunately, he brought a roll of TP. Mama’s Boy shared a silly song on being stranded without TP, and also the proper technique for disposing of waste if one finds himself high up on mountain rock with nowhere to dig: either pack it out or smear thinly. Leave no PAX behind - same with turds in the alpine. Pledge, then mosey to lot 1 for the first thang: - good mornings, arm circles, windmills, plank, merkins [Read More]

What is Frisco's name on slack today?

FYI Bartman, this is a 5:45 start AO and not 5:30. FYI Frisco, this is a 5:45 start AO and not 5:46. I apologize for all of the Frisco attention in this one. He attempted to start a brotherly quarrel on Slack between Water Wings and me a day before the workout. Mosey behind the bathroom building to hide from Frisco who showed up late, but he found us anyways. Then continued the mosey to the left lot for warm-ups. [Read More]

Last year I was out of town on my birthday, so this year I planned early and signed up for the Q slot for A-Team months ago. Little did I know how different the world would be over the past few months. I am thankful we are able to get out each morning, support each other, and move our bodies! Here is what went down today: Arrived a bit early, Crimson was complaining that I had him leave a few minutes earlier than normal but it was great to meet the PAX as the arrived. [Read More]

Classic TV Land

I may have shared this before (probably with Cally for a The Muggo bit) so pardon the repetition. When I came to the US at seven years old, I knew somewhere between one and four words of English and my parents were only moderately more fluent. Lucky for me, this is a great country with great people, great teachers and great institutions of learning. And even greater television. I am pretty sure between the fall of 1983 and the summer of 1985, I watched 2,148 hours of television. [Read More]
