Crazy(ish) Phoenix

Banjo hit the Pax with news of his trip to the IR and naturally YHC jumped on the chance to Q Carpex’s premiere AO on a Saturday morning. And with the boys headed out for Crazy Train, we had to get a good beatdown in, in their honor as well. Fellowship run at 0605 (sorry Chipper who had been waiting since 0545 chomping at the bit) and the rest of the Pax arrive on-time for a 0630 start. [Read More]

A weinke necessary workout.

Well my streak of finishing on-time this week ends with 1. However I appreciated the fact that this group of HIM never once mentioned the time or seemed to care we were a few minutes over. I guess they were just having too much “fun.” I thought about starting this BB with all the things Franklin, Banjo and Hi-Liter had issues with during my Q, and all the helpful suggestions and comments they shared. The Gloom is Gone

I was looking forward to navigating Carpex’s gloomiest AO, but alas, we had 70° at 5:30, a light breeze, and an early sunrise that I suppose we need to get used to! After walking the course down, some quick stretching to the tunes of Hi-Liter’s youth, and a fruitless FNG check, we disclaimed and set out down Park Village Dr. Pause at the clubhouse for: GM // Merkins IC // IW [Read More]

You never forget your first time

…that’s kind of true, but when in doubt just reference the backblast. On May 10th, 2017 a dude named Dice showed up to SNS on the invite of his buddy Jamie. It was weird because all the guys were calling him “Repeato,” never the less, on a brisk (to me at the time) 54 degree morning I logged my first Carpex beatdown at the hands of a one “Earhart.” Hello Kitty was born and I’ve mildly gravitated to F3 activities… [Read More]

AND Back in the Saddle

Whew, it’s been a while! YHC did have one random Hells Bells Q during my extended stay on the IR but today’s Q definitely puts me back in the saddle. There was a great crowd of 17 pax to welcome YHC back in and a nice cool breeze ta boot. Back in January listening to the F3 podcast it was suggested that all of our workouts start with the disclaimer. Everytime. [Read More]

Imperial Death March, DZ style

15 stormtroopers marched on Danger Zone this morning, destroying the rebel alliance…otherwise known as our shoulders. In concelebration of May the Fourth, YHC spun up a beatdown complete with Star Wars flavored fun. Under a bright moon and the glow of light sabers, we welcomed an FNG, Pete, and dutifully recited the disclaimer. And then the fun began… Of course, the first warmup move of any respectable May the Fourth workout has to be…Imperial Walkers. [Read More]

Merkins and Mary, what more do you need?

Empty spaces in the Q sheets hurt my soul…and aggravate my CDO (we’ll see how many of you get that one). Must. Sign. Up. Thanks, Hot Spot. At least it makes Q shopping easier. “Oh look, I’m the Q, I guess I should go there”. Enough rambling, here’s what we did on a gorgeous May Day morning as the first of two full moons set (Werewolf plug). The Warm-up (Beaker’s Beginnings) [Read More]

Shakin' not Stirred 4/25/18 Day 3 -- The '80's

The week of Smokey continues with the music of the ‘80’s. Joining us in the gloom were artists like Kenny Logins, Def Leppard, and Bon Jovi to name a few. 36 PAX were there for Vesper and SnS. 28 actually got to listen to the music. We began with a quick run around the parking lot to warm up in front of the senior center. Warm Up SSH Imperial Walkers [Read More]

MENSA Q

Here’s some maths knowledge for y’all - and why on Earth we would do anything as stupid (completely, utterly…?) as incorporate a Fibonacci sequence into a workout. For those of you who have been at this awhile, you may have experienced the Nautilus, a workout that starts at the center of something and spirals outward. A nautilus is a natural embodiment of the Golden Ratio, a mathematical expression that refers to the ratio of two addends to their sum and each other.
