35(ish) PAX converged at Bond Park for a pick-your-own-adventure sorta day. Some ran. Some rucked. Some beast-ed. And some did a little bit of all that. But I can only speak to what the bootcampers did. Some other hero will need to fill you in on what happened with the ruckers and runners. 5:44am, YHC hollered at the PAX to find a partner. A dull buzz filled the air as the PAX wondered whether YHC had actually planned a Q *gasp*. [Read More]

More miles please?

With the weather being a pleasant 48f this AM, 17 of Carpex’s finest came out in the gloom. Some appeared eager and did an EC, others didn’t. I am not one to judge, rather my purpose this morning was to Q. Let’s do this. Starting with: Pledge of allegiance Mozy to parking lot for warmups consisting of: Good mornings Seal claps Overhead claps Sir fazio arm circles Side stradle hops Mozy to top of trail path Thang 1: 7’s Plank Jacks & Sumo Squats Mozy past lake to parking lot [Read More]

Rock around the Clock at the Big, Long Scottish Sword

A fine, forty-degree morning to Q what Frisco had told me was Carpex’s newest Tuesday AO, called Big, Long Scottish Sword. Apparently, site tradition holds that only one Site Q may preside at a time, today being the Thane of Pickles, and you have to imagine the flag. No FNGs, so let’s get to work. Warm up Backwards walk, high knee walk, and karaoke walk to the roundabout parking lot. [Read More]

Expanding The Nares

YHC drove all around Koka Booth looking for the F3 Carpex workout site known as Kryptonite. Couldn’t find it. No Shovel Flag in site. Finally saw some EC runners, so followed them to the Kryptonite parking lot. No Shovel Flag. No site Qs. Definitely felt like an F3 Raleigh site. That is until YHC opened his car door: door was hardly ajar when Largemouth and Hermes started talking smack to YHC. [Read More]

Boxcars!

Every year on the Ides of March, YHC has the distinct honor to celebrate the anniversary of his first F3 post. Today on the 6th installment I was honored once again to do so with my F3 Carpex brothers. We gathered outside the open gates* of Apex Community Park, home of A-Team, and noted the peak spring gloom, having endured a full 26 hours of Daylight Savings Time. 3/4ths of the ShieldRuck was on hand, one in a Cubs jersey #oversight. Disney Dreams in Bond Park

9 PAX plus Press On’s pooch gathered at Phoenix for YHC’s 1 year anniversary. As the family is huge fans of Disney I figured we’d do an appropriately themed tour. Clear and ~40 degrees or so. Torpedo commented this is the first time this year he’s started an F3 workout in the daylight…a beautiful one indeed. Warmup Goofy Good Mornings x5 – on a whim, counted with a GAWRSH which all enjoyed… [Read More]

Record 16 Pax

The night was looking to be a very glorious time for a beatdown! Many other pax thought so too as 16 HIMs in all descended upon Ragnarok to tackle the evening gloom, which we were all pretty sure set a new record for the site! When the clock hit 8pm YHC gave, and slighty bumbled my way through the disclaimer and mission of F3 (It was one of a few times I realized I was a little rusty). [Read More]

We didn't start the fire...

…it was always burning, since the world’s been turning. It’s been 49 weeks since I last “officially” posted at an AO, March 20th 2020, with @Franklin at the helm at Gran Torino. Since that time, it’s been a helluva ride: Well, Covid, Black Lives Matter became a movement instead of just good damn common decency as humans Kim Jong Un died. Then didn’t Kanye West ran for president. Really, that happened. PHAT Tuesday

22 brave men and 2 brave dogs assembled in beautiful downtown Cary on the most glorious evening of the year. Warm-Up Mosey around the parking lot in front of Page Walker, past the pocket park, to the parking lot next to the tracks and circle up for various warm-up exercises. I think one of them was burpees. The Thang Mosey safely across the street to the little hill behind the Chamber of Commerce for 7&7. [Read More]

A Smattering

4 years and a day! Quite a morning today, but first a look back at the last few February 14ths: 2020 // 2019 // 2018 // 2017 (note, way better BB compliance in Raleigh so far in 2021, but it seems like it’s only thanks to Pigpen and Cococrisp. tighten up, this is apparently a lost art) 14 PAX joined me at the flag, were graced with a retrospective about bu_m_ble tea and cheese foam, we checked for FNGs, said the pledge, and were off!
