Shank's "High Intensity" Workout

When: 7/28/17 QIC: Shank The PAX: Hermes, Angry Elf, Large Mouth, Joe Smith, Bartman, Perogi, Chanticleer, Sky Blue After a couple of months with F3 I did a “high-intensity workout” - after all, aren’t all of them high intensity? Well, I nearly passed out and promised I would never do it again, but today I was conquering my fear and created my own version of “high-intensity” at Danger Zone with the 8 men who joined me this morning. What a Zoo!

Pre-BB Last fall, I chaperoned my son’s field trip to the NC Zoo. Master of the obvious, I noticed that all the animals had animal names. So there’s that. BB YHC promised that Phoenix this morning would be a “zoo.” So, we went exclusively with exercises named after animals. When I mentioned my plan after our Pledge of Allegiance, I heard from the twenty-three strong PAX that we were “talking too much. [Read More]

Extra Spicy

Pre-BB In 1785, William Cowper wrote a poem he entitled, “The Task.” In it, Cowper wrote the famous idiom, “Variety is the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavor.” And so it was that SNS this morning was Extra Spicy. BB When the guy who first invited you to F3 asks for help, you help him. I gladly said “yes” when Water Wings asked for a Q sub today. [Read More]

A Bridge Too Far

I arrive at AO I normally don’t visit that often (I tend to go to FOD) but I do enjoy this site and the options it brings. 22 PAX show-up on time ready for another beat down. Welcome FNG Kyrie! Q starts by getting the guys to grab some curb and do a round of quick feet, a good way to warm up before the warm up. We head out running slowly around the corner for: [Read More]

7/20/2017 Artsy Fartsy

16 PAX including a 2.0 - Bo Jackson working on his maiden 6 pack showed up for a YHC led workout. The warm-up: Jog to sea of booty (aka Copacabana Wave) new location and circle up for some warm up. Jog to sea of booty old location and warm up some more. Jog to some other odd art sculpture near the rail road tracks (aka Excelerator) for some more warm up. [Read More]

Hitting and Running for the Cycle

It was so hot, I thought we were at Dante’s Peak….then I realized I only drove 2 mins to the AO….not 20 mins. The Insomnia extra credit boys (Large Mouth, Hermes, Callahan, Pet Sounds and PBX) came running follow my Mr. Rucker (Bartman) as we circled up to get started. Nice work men. 73 degrees, feels like 88, clear, no wind. Theme for today was baseball given the 2nd F Bulls outing on Sunday. [Read More]

The Money Move

Flip Flop, disco duck, smokey, Burt, Joe Smith, largemouth, Chanticler, Hermes, pierogi, shank, coney, Banjo Recently YHC was in Chapel Hill where Yanni led the pax through 50 prom night Merkins to the pax chagrin, as is if those glory days were not a bar set high, much like Burts high school fro bringing him in at 5'10". This is real stuff for these men of action. Hermes alone would scoff at such a weak execution and bow out that chest and announce three or four more rounds. [Read More]

Bones-Bones-Bones-Bones Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones…

…Now tell me what ya gonna do, When it ain’t nowhere to run (haha, Shut-in reminded me of this Bone Thugs-n-Harmony song and I think I’ll start my next Q with this in the background) F3 started for me in Churham at The Falcon approximately two years ago, later spending 1 year as Co Site Q at Tobacco Road. After moving from Durham to Cary 1 year ago this month, I was past due for my first Carpex Q. [Read More]

Pick Up Your 6

“Who you spend time with is who you become. Proximity is power.” - Tony Robbins This quote came across my Twitter feed this weekend and I loved it. Right away it made me think of my F3 brothers. The ones I see everyday that help make me better. Not only physically but also, through fellowship and faith, a better man, husband, dad, son, coworker…you name it. I sat there proud thinking of the people I surround myself with because of the good it does in my life. [Read More]

Give Me Liberty or Death!

With all the spirit and having experienced the 1776 beatdown personally, I felt one more inspirational workout was due to the PAX. With everyone there on a hot and muggy morning, we head out running out and back, circling around the Nan-tan for the first group of exercises and: Warm Up 10 Good Mornings 20 Imperial Walkers 20 Variable Side Straddle Hops 15 Elevated Heel Raises 15 Mountain Climbers 15 Elevated Heel Raises [Read More]
