Watch out for roots! This is Danger Zone.

Did everyone bring a headlight? Close enough. “Why did Coxswain say to bring headlight when he doesn’t have one on himself?” Que lights clipped onto my waist band like I’m Data in Goonies! Warm Up: Merkins (Yes, we started with merkins!) LBCs Imperial Walkers Good Mornings Side Straddle Hop more Merkins and then we’re off running Thang: Cross the street, not at a crosswalk, but there weren’t any cars coming so it was safe! Catching Largemouth

Last night, the Q slot for BiB opened up, so YHC volunteered to take the helm. I remembered a nearby segment from last year’s Hill Climb Challenge, so I built the workout around that. 15 total Pax today, including one FNG. TClaps to Farm Aid and Useful Engine for bringing out a friend. Thing Mosey around the lake. Warm-up: I called some unusual stuff that Build-a-Bear didn’t love. Pearls on a String Mosey through the greenway to Glade Park Road. [Read More]

Lost one before the turn

Pre-blast: IR friendly. QIC is nursing some foot stuff. Nothing major but trying to get to the point where I don’t feel tightness first thing in the morning. With that in mind, I scan the area - through Google Maps of course - and see there may be a nice trail leading from one of the parking lots out to Lochmere Lake. Looks like a nice short cut to cool views and some rocks. [Read More]

We Already Did These

Pierogi made an astute observation on Sunday evening - there were 14, count ’em FOURTEEN empty Q slots for this week. Feeling personally called out by that, I scooped two of them. As we’ll see on Friday of this week, it was easy to select the two that I did. More on that on Friday. #foreshadowing I arrived at MDP at approx 5:04 (so as to avoid the pressure of joining the EC) to settle on the plan for the workout. [Read More]

The Name Game (and Gerald Owens)

It’s been a loooong time since YHC has been to FWD. Wonder if anything has changed? YHC got out of the car and could hear Hermes squeaky, but booming voice, telling dad bad jokes. Nope, nothing has changed. After a lengthy disclaimer orated by YHC, the eleven of us were off on a warm-up run that included the FWD baby gherkin pickle and continued to the parking lot where we used to do Monkey Humpers in front of the Crossfit place. Is That Your Pickle? (or are you just happy to see me???)

Respect week. The GREATEST WEEK OF THE YEAR in carpex f3. The excitement was palpable at Salem Pond Park on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Several did an EC run, there were 2 for EC Shred and 2 more for EC pull-ups. After Hermes finished reading the obituaries, we got all 24!!! guys to start out with the Pledge. There was a little mini-disclaimer beforehand, but it was likely not heard due to the intense MC centering around bad old people jokes. [Read More]

Mystery of the F3 Prius (QIC: Oofta)

QIC: Oofta On his way to BiB this morning, Pierogi began following a silver Prius with an F3 sticker on its back bumper. Piergo assumed he’d follow this Pax right into our parking lot. Not so! The Prius took the turn immediately before ours and headed into a separate Koka Booth parking lot. 3 for EC (Hermes, Oofta, Francois). Great crew of 15 for the ME. Mosey to the rock pile. [Read More]
