1983 GMC Vandura

The AO A-Team has special place in YHCs heart. After all, it was where my first post was in July of 2016 with Banjo as the QIC. That particular day we had 18 men, and all but two are still Carpex regulars. In fact, four of those guys were there today: Banjo, Compound W, Michelob, and Shut-In. YHC rolled up with about 4 minutes to spare. Holy Schnikies!, nowhere to hardly park. [Read More]

Curing a Case of the Mondays

YHC was reminiscing a bit with some of the PAX who were around for the launch of the AO known as Hell’s Bells. Back in the day when this site was just barely beyond a twinkle in the eyes of Earhart & Monkey Nut, there were times when the site Qs posted only to do a 2 man workout. Back in the glory days when the gates at Apex Nature Park always opened well before 0530. [Read More]

Dang Near Purrfect Weather For The Duckman

February, sixty degrees, light rain, light wind, glorious conditions for a downtown Apex beatdown. Warm-Up Mosey across the tracks and over to the Apex United Methodist Church courtyard and circle up for hillbillies, Sir Fazios, cherry pickers and copperhead squats. The Thang 15 Carolina dry docks, 15 monkey humpers, 15 LBCs, take an abbreviated lap around the church, repeato dropping the count by one each round. Mosey back across the tracks to the front of Apex Baptist Church and count of into 1s and 2s. [Read More]

Moist mosey merkins

Don’t google that… It’s raining, quite a bit, but the 3rd core principle is outside, rain or shine, heat or cold. 10 head out for a bootcamp and 1 for a mother ruck. Warm-up: Leave the lot and head to the front of the school only to do warm-ups right next to the covered walk way. Thank you, Shutty. GM, Imperial Walkers, Sir Fazio, Phelps and Overhead clap The Thang: [Read More]

The Great Triumphant Return of Napster, and other February Birthday (not mine) Shenanigans

Does anyone really know how many PAX post at the original weekly convergence known as Shaken Not Stirred? Or is it Vesper? Or is it Insomnia? All YHC knows is you pull into that parking lot off of Maury O’Dell drive, and there are likely to be cars and PAX scattered about. With the rapid growth of Carpex, there was some concern that opening new Wednesday sites could detract from the nostalgic allure of SNS. [Read More]

3rd Sooey-anniversary

In keeping with the theme for a 3 year anniversary, YHC had the Q for the 3rd time at A-Team on 1/27/2020, exactly 3 years after Crimson introduced YHC to F3 on 1/27/2017. Doesn’t seem like that long ago, then again it seems like a lifetime. Funny how time works. As fate would have it, my good pal Frisco asked if I would be interested in a co-Q. Seeing as Frisco has not posted in well over a year (or maybe just like 10 days but you can decide) YHC made the fatal mistake of letting Camp Frisco invade F3 and NOT alerting the PAX ahead of time. Mamba Mentality Purrfect for High Tempo

YHC wanted a chance to honor Kobe, his daughter, his family and those lost along side him in the tragic accident over the weekend. So, a high tempo 8&24 Mamba Mentality beatdown was in order at FMJ… and whattya know, 8 pax were there. Coincidence, I think not. Warm-up: On our way down the road stop for GM (8), SSH (24), Sir Fazios (8&8) The Thang: At the intersection partner up. [Read More]

Accountability 2020

The new year brings new goals. YHC has not been very good at stepping up to Q as often as I should. So, what do you do about it? You get an accountability partner and make a pack. So, for 2020, YHC and my accountability partner @Deuce will hold each other accountable to Q at least once a month. In that vain, January kicks off the accountability pack with a Co-Q at Dazed and Confused. [Read More]

There's nothing wrong with a little vanilla now and then

23 PAX showed up on a beautiful Thursday morning for a little fun and some exercise. On the run in to the AO YHC was still working on the plan for this morning. Here’s what was come up with: Warmup: One FNG, so the typical disclaimers given, but YHC struggled to remember the mission statement on the spot, so we pledged allegiance and off we moseyed to the community center.
