Hello Kitty Q'd Dante's Peak on a Friday in Apex

I’ll admit, sometimes I still flip on the ole GPS to get me out to DP, but when I get there I’m reminded at just how glorious this site is. A few hombres showed up at 0510 for ECP and laps. The only way to get better at pull-ups is to do more pull-ups. Aye! Back to the lot around 5:35 for record PUT6 w/ The Commish. Episode available HERE. [Read More]

I Just Googled “Most Repetitive Songs”

Pre-Blast 11 rocked out at #ao-thurs-bo. There was some discussion about Puck’s ‘stache. @Burt has an off-site meeting today at 2:30. To prepare for today, YHC just Googled “Most Repetitive Songs” The Warmup Pledge of Allegiance at the flag Run to the CFB parking lot. Circle up for: Good Mornings, Windmills, Sir Fazio Series, Calf Stretches, Diamond and WG Merkins. Run to the end of the lot and back. The Thangs [Read More]

Hablo un poco de español

Buenos Dias, Hermanos. When it was announced that Liverpool and Water Wings would share their Chimbote, Peru (or is it Chipotle…) story with the Pax at a bread braking and the Q sheet was WIDE FREAKING OPEN for that day, YHC had to jump on it. Knowing we’d have a squad on hand, I was extra excited (hard to believe I know) for this one. With a resounding Yooooooooooooo at 0544, we got ready to roll out. [Read More]

BO BB 3/7/19: Vanilla Just Tastes Better

15 PAX entered the gloom on a 40-something degree morning in downtown Cary. A couple guys did EC - you know who you are. By the grace of the SkyQ, one of the BO twitterkeepers tweeted out that YHC was the Q for the week. YHC may or may not have remembered that. (I didn’t) In light of that, I jokingly asked @shutincarpex what he was planning to do for his Q down the road, and like a good PAX, he DM’d me his pre-blast. [Read More]

Catch the Maynard if you can

The idea was to run a loop and on said loop catch the Maynard crew as they were hitting the Chatam and Maynard intersection, specifically catch the VQ Maynard running Liverpool. Nine set out, two a little quicker than the rest (respect to Large and Hi-Liter). The route was all the way down High House, right on Chatam, right on Maynard and a left on High House to get home. 2nd Annual Bacon Run

With the Tobacco Road Half and Full Marathon approaching, the pax joined for what has quickly become an annual tradition… well at least for this second year in-a-row… a long ATT run followed by top-notch fellowship in the parking lot centered around the all-time champion of breakfast meats, BACON. Distances varied between 5-16 (based on YHC’s count), with the majority of pax locking in on that 10-mile distance. Dang near purrfect with the race coming up in 10 days. [Read More]

Y'all Hear That???

At 0515, YHC started the fellowship mosey of a half-mileish to that newest of AOs, Lion’s Den, with Hello Kitty and Smithers in tow. Who doesn’t want a brand-spanking new AO virtually in their back yard? Upon arrival Sour Mash is there with the newly purchased but not yet completed shovel flag. Soon a Baker’s Dozen PAX have assembled and the clock strikes 0530. One FNG, the disclaimer is pronounced, Allegiance is pledged, and Sour Mash takes the reigns. [Read More]

Tribute

The weather this morning reflected my mood to a T. It was rainy, dreary. A slight wind took whatever moisture was on our clothing and used it to sink its chill deep into our bones. A real jerk move, wind. The evening prior I had hoped that maybe the weather forecast was wrong. After all, the weather experts/enthusiasts only gave it a 60% chance of raining from 0630 to 0730. Alas, I resigned myself to the fact that we were going to get wet and cold. [Read More]
