Wolver-bata

22 men decided to start their week off right at Wolverine, where we attempted to force our collective Garmin watches to register some anaerobic benefit of a workout while logging few miles for my recently-post-long-run knees. And we succeeded with a custom-built Tabata-timed work out featuring only ONE thang, repeated three times. Each exercise was 45-seconds AMRAP, with 15 seconds to transition onward. Your 2020 Dante's Peak Logo Contest Winner!

^ It’s the contest nobody knew existed… whipped this baby up in PowerPoint, Word Art and all… BOOM! Heavy rain the night before left the entire area quite damp. YHC had planned to work around the pond for the beatdown so when I arrived Torpedo and I ran back to make sure it wasn’t underwater. It wasn’t! We did find a good half a dozen HIMs on the pull up bars and joined in for some of the fun. [Read More]

You Get a Rock, You Get a Rock, EVERYBODY GETS A ROCK!

YHC continued my tour of the West Carpex AOs that started my F3 career with a trip to Field of Dreams. This trip was bound to be a good one with the plethora of choices the Q has at their disposal, and I hope the PAX got exactly what they paid for with their expensive F3 membership. Warm-up: YHC noticed that the PAX were quite happy to see one another this morning, because the mumblechatter was on point to start. [Read More]

Just be ready!

Back in 2016, I decided to go to the gym the week after Christmas. Be committed and show up BEFORE all those people that start in January. I was on a mission to be less chubby and more healthy. Spin class two days a week. That was the answer! But Lifetime didn’t offer a morning class on Fridays at the Apex gym. Crimson had been pressuring nagging encouraging me to try his new workout group F3. [Read More]

We Have Liftoff

AO Launch Day. YHC was a bit nervous about attendance because there had been zero Slack hype for this event during the lead up. Despite that fact, a lot of folks somehow showed up to be part of the emergence from stealth mode. YHC knew something major was afoot when Ma Bell decided to again venture into “the eastern regions of his former kingdom” for not only the ME but an EC run taboot. Closing out DTP and 2019 with a VQ

With an impending night of debauchery in store for most, an impressive 28 rolled out of bed for a VQ by YHC to close out 2019. I must say, I couldn’t tell at first if I was honored to have that many show up or to pity them for what might be a disaster first Q (probably both). Either way, after going over the F3 mission and core principles with the FNG (nailed it btw), we headed out for what I was hoping to be an “END THE YEAR BEATDOWN. [Read More]

Why? Because We Can

For all of us who are in familiar surroundings, around our families and friends, Christmas can be a time of good food, good times, and celebration. Some of us, YHC included, have been eating way too much good food, and hitting the egg nog with frequency previously seen only when Clark Griswold got his Jelly of the Month club bonus. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to those who are unable to spend Christmas with their families, due to being deployed all over the world. [Read More]

Is it mumblechatter or grumblechatter?

The grumblechatter was strong at Wolverine this morning, led by Her-‘I can’t get wet’-mes and Frank-‘a mosey can’t last longer than 0.4 miles’-lin. But we persisted. And YHC is grateful to get to improve. **Warm-up: **Jog (or was it a mosey)? over to the school lot Good Mornings; Imperial Walker; Hill Billy; Calf-stretch w/ Merkins; Butt Kicker; High Knees; Karaoke Thang 1: Groups of three for new-max pull-ups. Re-evaluating Life Decisions

Early this morning, YHC, Wrench, Flenderson, Two Factor, Jiggly Puff, and some random Maynard participants gather at the Cary Senior Center. For some crazy reason YHC decided to join in on the EC festivities offered by Wrench on Slack last night. We started the morning at 5:30 setting out for a 5 mile loop. 54 minutes and 5.51 miles later YHC arrived back to the senior center for the ME. I was beat and clearly questioning my life decisions at that point. [Read More]
