The Plank

I’d run out of vacation time to get outta town and excuses not to VQ so here we are… Little did I know Dante’s would be hosting the Chipolte Qvergence in support of our brothers Liverpool and Water Wings trip to Peru. 43 HIMs posted on a fine spring morning in February, 3 FNGs taboot! Disclaimer and Pledge. Following the Dante’s Peak tradition we mosey down the circle for warm ups, we hardly fit… nice! [Read More]

Hares KickOff

What happens right after kickoff? Yep. RUNNING. For those unfamiliar with Hares(that would be just about everyone), we do a lot of that. Take your typical boot camp beatdown, modify most of the exercises to cover more ground, and stick a bunch of extra running in wherever possible. YHC arrived at 0512 to enjoy the excellent weather and speculate during a little EC run whether anyone else would show. Co-site-Q Yogi was the only pax I could count on being there, Bambi said he might be there but I didn’t think he would be. [Read More]

Pure Vanilla

I didn’t start out wanting to create a vanilla-flavored workout, but now that I look back over what we did, it reeks of the genus vanilla orchid. A bunch of EC HIM did running, pull-ups and other stuff. 0544 Give the Disclaimer to FNG. 0545 Here we go Mosey to the end of the parking lot where Dante Peakers like to warm up and get a little hissy if you don’t. Rocking the Cinder Blocks....

It was cold….. We had blocks….. We had 80’s Rock…..(See NMS for playlist) Let’s do this….. With a starting temperature of 22 degrees, there was no time to hang around. Today’s workout was meant to move quickly and keep moving. 18 PAX, No FNGs **Warm Up **After a quick Pledge of Allegiance, it as time to get the blood flowing and temperature up. Two loops around the parking lot then a circle up [Read More]

The Burger King Effect

We’re all familiar with Burger King’s long time moto “Have it your way”. I don’t know that I have ever personally exercised my right to have it my way with their burgers but the options is there I suppose. It’s empowering to have options. There is ownership in the plan when those involved are given the option to choose what kind of experience they ultimately want. This fundamental idea was visited in this workout. [Read More]

Windchill Warrioring

Advice about being out in the cold from the Boy Scouts: layer up. Advice about being out in the cold from “To Build a Fire”: keep moving (and learn to build a fire) Advice about being out in the cold from Costco: Little Hotties are $30 for a box of 40. Advice about being out in the cold from my wife last night: “You’re an idiot” The PAX at A-Team this morning I think agreed with all of the above. [Read More]

The Forgotten Hill

22 PAX of all ages, shapes and sizes gathered in the warm, moist gloom of Apex Nature park for a beat down of epic proportions. Little did they know. Warm up Allegiance is pledged, then mosey to the basketball court for SSHs, cotton pickers, good mornings, hill billies, 10 burpees and merkins (on my down AND up). The Thang At the first entrance is where we begin Double 11s. Monkey Humpers here, Peter Parker merkins at the second entrance. [Read More]

Just Don't Re-name Me Tonya Harding

Anyone who as joined me on one of my Qs knows that if I do anything well it is that I expose the PAX to a few new exercises whether I make them up and tag them with a silly name (Drunken Snow-angel) or, as often is the case, dive deep into the Exicon to tap into the plethora of experience shared by F3 Nation. Today was no exception as I pulled out some of my favorites and added some of the lesser known as well. [Read More]

1stF #6 of 7 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Technical difficulties and assumptions did not sway the beatdown - Plan B modification at its best

The morning was wonderful. I had my plan all ready to go so I was not worried. I arrived to Seymour Park early. I was ready so I got out of the car and started to stretch. Theismann shows up to do some EC pull-ups. I went with him for fellowship. I’m still bummed that I cannot do regular pull-ups … injuries suck!!! About fifteen minutes left to start Hotty Toddy shows up so I flapped jack with him and headed back to the flag to prepare. [Read More]
