Blocks + Rain = Pain

After posting several times with our fine F3 brothers in Hickory, NC this fall, YHC came to appreciate the versatile, yet potentially lethal concrete masonry unit (CMU aka “cinder block”) in a workout. Call it an implement, a coupon, whatever you’d like…they’re 38 pounds of jagged edged concrete. After a quick run to Lowes’, where CMU’s can be found for under $2 a piece, YHC decided to create a morning around them. [Read More]

What's Your Kryptonite?

Conditions were 51 degrees, 50% foggy, and 50% gloomy. I inserted a pre-blast for coffeeteria at NY Bagels. Other pre-blast material was request from Burt for Agility City (see original Agility City here: (https://f3carpex.com/2017/05/09/agility-city/) , and a request from Largemouth for EC run because “the QIC was soft”. Of the three pre-blasts, only two were partially true. Then yesterday afternoon, the M informed me we would be hosting the cul-de-sac game night at our house. [Read More]

Shortest backblast Top 10

The numbers were low, yet very vocal during this relatively mild morning. We did log around 4.2 miles total! (#neckstrain) Also, I have no idea how to change a date on wordpress, so for the record, this back blast is from December 1st. Thang: Hill 7’s by kiosk (Burpees and CDD) Flood wall by pond partner 1 rock the body, partner two run the levee loop (3 rounds) Finish with a run around the pond for the whole pax, stopping periodically to do Imperial walkers and catch the six. Battle Buddies Unite!

Monday was the gloomiest of the gloom. About 50 degrees and pouring down rain. This is the time of the year that really shows a PAX true grit and determination to be a HIM. TBH, if I did not have the Q this morning, then I would have been a RHC to the Fartsack….. Anyways, as I stood under the largest tree to stretch and somewhat avoid the rain, I see a few of the PAX arriving from an EC run. [Read More]

Circumsack

30+ Pax found a way to get to Bond Park Senior Center today between the hours of 0430 and 0545. Some arrived that early for #TheMaynard, others a little later for #Insomnia, and picking up the 6 were those ready for a #Beatdown or a #Vesper run. For those that couldn’t make it a new(ish) F3 Lexicon word was discovered by YHC during a recent 43Feet podcast. Some guys faced certain circumstances; work, family, scheduling, issues and had to fartsack. Milk Run

33 Pax gathered to celebrate YHC’s 35th birthday… well actually, they gathered to watch what would happen when Frisco drank a half gallon of milk prior to the beatdown. Banjo joined Frisco in the lactose challenge. Surprisingly, they were able to keep it all down during the workout. Pickles and Parker got in some EC merkins and several pax got in an EC fellowship run with Half. Once the new start time of 0530 rolled around, we were off! [Read More]

The role of Largemouth will be played by his understudy

With just under 12 hours on the clock before the start of Kryptonite, the call went out that Largemouth was dealing with a stomach bug. So I dusted off the script, prepped for the part and took the stage as the Q for a morning performance. And although the audience was visible upset, no one left the theatre and demanded their money back. We mosey across the street (hold up, car right) to the parking lot. [Read More]

Black Jack Deuces Wild

A good group of card sharks gathered this morning for a little game of Black Jack. However, counting, running, time and just good old common sense seemed to be our enemy, and although we had a good workout, we didn’t finish the game. We left the small parking lot and headed to the large parking lot doing a like backwards run and karaoke on the way and circled up right in the middle of the main entrance. [Read More]

We was a runnnnning

Monday Morning. Little bitty stingy rain. 5:30 announcement. Introduced myself, gave the disclaimer and we are off. Headed down the path to the amphitheater, and a quick HALT. Place is a flooded. Nothing like 20 seconds in and calling an audible. Turn around and head out to the main road and take alternate path to the Theater. After dodging puddles, uneven ground, and no entry signs we made our way in front of the stage.
