You're no Prodigal

Sunday afternoon, YHC was finally done with most of the chores for the day (after a great morning TRM tuneup run with Wonderbread), and checked in on Slack to see what was up. First priority was to check on the Q status for Gran Torino Friday…OH NO we need a Q! But then, a more urgent call for help was noticed. Prodigal needed someone to take his Kryptonite Q. It’s been a while since I Q’d (and especially Kryptonite), so I tossed my hat in the ring. [Read More]

Teaching Ponies Some New Tricks

Preamble Good thing Kittibonz posted the Q sheet on Slack Sunday or I might have forgotten I had the Kryptonite Q. Once reminded, I was all in pre-blasting my intention of throwing some blue collar beatdown on these one-trick ponies that gallop around the AO. Not to worry; I know these thoroughbreds gotta eat. That said, methinks they were all a’skeered they weren’t going to get their miles in - which is why the parking lot was unusually full of cars and devoid of PAX when the West Cary clown car arrived. The "Combine" 2/3 Beast

The time has come for tryouts for the site co-Q at Full Metal Jacket. Simply Sub is off over the pond touring foreign countries for the next several weeks and his new job will take him away from the Carpex maiden-land. That leaves a spot open on the FMJ site co-Q. One of the most coveted spots in the Carpex nation. This is Carpex’s Tuesday premier high tempo workout location. [Read More]

Disruption

disruption the act or process of disrupting something : a break or interruption in the normal course or continuation of some activity, process, etc. There were 20 dudes who were at the AO known as Bounty Hunters, by the time it ended. Some of them were doing a run, others did the Main Event. YHC didn’t have a count of exactly who was doing what. And this backblast really won’t focus on that little detail. [Read More]

Running Around, in Circles

This week’s version of Red Ryder tours Carpex takes us to Full Metal Jacket. One of my favorite site names, and an iconic movie from the 80s. A few months ago the decision was made to change the workout here from standard boot camp to high tempo, so the PAX are going to expect to keep moving. Luckily it’s been raining off and on so we’ll dodge rain drops and puddles. [Read More]

Rain makes you feel like a kid again

Date: 2/6/20 PAX: Water Wings, Rooney, I Pity the Fool, Term Paper, Henny Penny, WWW, GTL, Smokey, Texas Ranger, Lookout, One Four, Honeycomb, Wonder Bread My normal routine prior to posting is to always see what Steve’s forecast would be. He has a lot of moisture planned in the gloom. So, when I hear that, I prepare myself mentally that I’ll be quite moist during the beatdown. Term Paper sends a Slack post to Hello Kitty and me wanting to know how dry we will be. [Read More]

Capture the Duck (not of the Disco variety)

This was my third Q in the seven months posting with F3…my goal is to accelerate that number this year (see what I did there?). I have experienced a clear, positive change in my life since I began coming out and I am grateful. Grateful to Denali and Captain Jack for encouraging me to jump in and welcoming me and to the rest of the PAX, even those I don’t know well, for setting an example. [Read More]
