A great start

I’ll be the first to admit that I did loose some sleep night before, I did end up rewriting my workout ideas multiple times, I did have some anxiety. And once we got rolling that morning I did suffer a bit from my winke. Mumble chatter was prominent, for certain. But I was warned. Despite all that after all was said and done it sure did feel good. What a great start. [Read More]

Pick Your Poison

Another cold morning could not keep the men of Carpex in the fartsack, 19 showed up for the Main Event, many took part in multiple EC run opportunities. Warm-Up Mosey around the pickle in front of the shelter and circle up for imperial walkers, arm circles, copperhead squats, cherry pickers and burpees. The Thang Mosey over to the rock pile and grab a High Rep Rock and circle up for Pick Your Poison. [Read More]

Are We Gonna Do This The Whole Time?

Slippery When Wet - home of the EC run as well as where YHC completed week 1 of the 2019 IronPax Challenge. In celebration of how much that sucked the first time, we’re gonna do it again today. Several PAX did some kind of EC run, 2 PAX for EC pull-ups. At 0545, there were 15 gathered round the flag. First exercise, Pledge of Allegiance. Warm Up 2 laps around the pickle with some high knees and karaoke. [Read More]

If nothing else, we were wet (TWSS)

YHC, Largemouth, Lookout, HGTV, Bayonne all for a 0500 EC launch. There may have been PAX for a 0505 as well. Circle up: Good Mornings, Windmill, Arm Circles, Overhead Clap, SSH, Steve Earle, Mnt. Thank you for your [Carpex] leadership [challenge]

Here’s a dang shame, but one I’m HIM enough to admit: it took me until this morning to post at Hells Bells, and I showed up to check a box for the Carpex leadership challenge. But in the process, I fell in love with one of the finest got danged AO’s in all of Carpex. Seriously, this place is the cat’s PJs. YHC, Snots and Yahoo… or was it Wahoo… I never know… took off for some EC. [Read More]

Holiday Party SZN

9 gloom-warriors joined YHC for some holiday fun around DTC. I threw out an invitation on slack for the gents to wear their favorite ugly xmas sweater, with the best(worst) dressed winning a door prize (which would have been a single 12oz bottle of Cold Mountain). Alas, I was the only jackass to dress up for the occasion. Oh well, not the first time I’ve looked like an idiot, and certainly won’t be the last. [Read More]

HB2me

31! This has been some kind of week, so just like I did in my preparation I’m going to keep it brief. Mostly recycled my May the H8th workout from last year (thank you, longevity). Here’s what we did this time: FNG Check / F3 Mission Statement / FOLLOW ME into the park Quick figure 8 through the playground, and back to the inner lot for: GM // SSH // TT // 31SM [Read More]

Farewell Q

This will be YHC’s 5th BackBlast written in the last 2 weeks. I’m beginning to understand now why some PAX are not a fan of writing them or choose to routinely skip writing them. YHC, Schlitz, and Joe Smith showed up early to get over 3 miles of EC in. It was Schlitz that also pointed out a used DNA Cocoon on the grounds of SWW. Warm Up No FNGs, disclaimer (sort of), pledge. A Long Stiffness

16 PAX braved the second darkest AO in all of Carpex to see if YHC could really cause them all a long stiffness. EC was a plenty, as YHC was tricked into 3+ miles at around an 8 min pace. There were no FNGs, the disclaimer was given, and the pledge was recited. Warm Up Gassed from the long and fast EC, YHC decided to have the PAX circle up immediately for the following exercises: [Read More]

Pre-Blast was the ultimate fire starter. Yoga Mat is the benchmark.
