3rd Annual Franklinaversary

On the last Monday in September in 2014, YHC was privileged to be an FNG at an A-Team workout. Today, YHC took the opportunity of his anniversary to repeat his inaugural F3 workout, this time as the Q, just as I did on the last Monday in September 2015 and 2016. Following the first time I participated in this workout (under the leadership of Denali), I couldn’t raise my arms above my head for 3 days and couldn’t walk properly for 6 days. [Read More]

Bears v. Crabs

Pre-BB YHC delayed his departure for a short business trip to make Wolverine’s Launch happen…but the BB had to take a back seat for a few days. Worth the wait, I hope. BB Thank you, Pete Russell, for Co-Qing this great, new AO with me…pumped to be working with you. Thanks to the 29 HIM who posted at Wolverine’s launch. And thanks to ALL of CarPex for the mumble chatter that kept the buzz about Wolverine alive. [Read More]

10 Yards of Football

The troops gathered late at Slippery when wet – but gather quickly they did. We had a visitor from the Mother ship today – Cheese Turd (or perhaps it was Curd) who made the mistake of following Nature Boy into the park after seeing the F3 sticker on his car – I think it in involved three U-Turns before the got to the right place. Once we were together, we circled around the parking lot and then into the back grass field for some warm up. Post BRR, Post 9/11 Stair Climb...just post

After weeks (months?) of run training for BRR, doubling up most mornings (Insomnia + Vesper = CRAZY), several #themaynards, it was nice this morning for a PAX of 9 or so to head off for a coolish Vesper. What Sore Legs?

After a GroupMe fartsack shaming on Tuesday - the day after the 9/11 stair climbs and only a couple of days removed from the BRR - when only a handful of CarPEX PAX posted, the boys showed up in force; from the looks of it, pert’neer 40 of them. We’ll count-a-rama later. After a round of fist bumps and a doo-rag tying lesson, it was time to roll. Let’s go! [Read More]

Excuses, Excuses

11 PAX (ten for boot camp, one for a solo run) gathered at Thomas Brooks Park, site of Field Of Dreams. YHC pulled up just as the rain was letting up just a little. It was a smaller group today, but that’s okay. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to lead a group barely into double digits. I forgot how nice that is. But, to be frank, I expected a smaller crowd today. [Read More]

B.O. 8/24/17

So, I’m late. If I were a woman, that’d be quite the statement. Here’s what happened: WARM UP: C’mon bro, this happened nearly three weeks ago. But if I’m going to guess, I’d say it was some assortment of SSH, GM, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Squats(?), Arm Circles(?) THE THANG: Run over to the most glorious concrete structure in North Carolina. Seriously. This parking garage might be the most Cary thing in the Town of Cary. [Read More]

Bounty Hunters - 08/31/2017

So, I feel really bad about this one. I got the calendar alert at 8PM the night before and thought, “Yeah, I’ll just wing it. Maybe some partner work or Dora 123. One of the classics. It’ll be aight.” Then Wednesday night happened. My 2.0 was up no less than 3 times in the night, once with poop all over the place. So when my alarm went off at 4:15 AM (so I had enough time to get to Apex), I darn near fartsacked. [Read More]

Dreamin' of DangerZone

YHC/QIC rolled up to Danger Zone to see 13 men awaiting in the Gloom. True Gloom too: moderately dense fog settling over the men and the shovel flag, and mild cool brisk air. I really needed to consult with one of the site Qs, but alas, there was no sight Q in site. Burt exclaimed he was an old site Q and offered his guidance. I was unsure if he utilized the adjective “old” meaning ‘former’ or ‘age’, but nonetheless I absolutely declined any guidance from Burt. [Read More]
