440 for Time

6 PAX gathered at the Big Top on perhaps the least gloomy morning of 2019 so far, 3 of them within a minute of go-time. Goose arrived 5 minutes early expecting the usual punctual PAX for some pre-workout fellowship…he was disappointed. He was also hoping to sweat, I hope he wasn’t doubly disappointed. I get excited planning Qs, especially when they seem particularly novel, challenging, or CSAUP-y. Today qualifies. Beaker’s Beginnings (The Warm-up) [Read More]

Pro tip: Write your BB as soon possible. This saving them up for the end of the week thing is for the birds. And not that much unlike my struggle to remember what I was doing about 30 hours ago the Exicon provided a doozy of a workout involving the track. I rarely post, or Q for that matter, where there is a running track so I made the most of this opportunity. [Read More]

Sub's Sub

When the scheduled Q doesn’t show up for the workout it’s up to the site Q’s to provide the beatdown the PAX have come for. With our brother Sub AWOL, and after losing four of seven games of rock, paper, scissors to co-site Q Smokey, it was up to YHC to deliver. Warm-Up Mosey into the park, notice the batting cages, advise the PAX to remember them, perform ten burpees to aid their memories. [Read More]

A beautiful morning at the finest AO in NW Cary. Welcome to the Circus. Ringmaster Geek Squad led the day’s events. 15 showed up on time. Unfortunately Nature Boy was late. Hablo un poco de español

Buenos Dias, Hermanos. When it was announced that Liverpool and Water Wings would share their Chimbote, Peru (or is it Chipotle…) story with the Pax at a bread braking and the Q sheet was WIDE FREAKING OPEN for that day, YHC had to jump on it. Knowing we’d have a squad on hand, I was extra excited (hard to believe I know) for this one. With a resounding Yooooooooooooo at 0544, we got ready to roll out. [Read More]

Woke Up Without a Plan

When I announced what we were doing this morning I was accused of waking up without a plan. Not true, I knew two weeks ago I was borrowing this workout from Banjo. If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for me. Warm-Up Mosey down the road by the pond and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies, cotton pickers, and because no one except Old Maid was counting loud enough for YHC to hear, 10 burpees OYO. Frigid Circus

It wasn’t raining and there was a sunrise, so mark that as a win in the weather column. However, the PAX kept complaining about “The Cold”. Now, the weed companies, pest companies, and Punxsutawney Phil all assure me that Spring has sprung. My hydrangeas agreed, much to the dismay of their now-wilted buds. Alas, I can’t do anything about that, but I can do something about the shivering PAX. Beaker’s Beginnings (The Warm-up) [Read More]

Catch the Maynard if you can

The idea was to run a loop and on said loop catch the Maynard crew as they were hitting the Chatam and Maynard intersection, specifically catch the VQ Maynard running Liverpool. Nine set out, two a little quicker than the rest (respect to Large and Hi-Liter). The route was all the way down High House, right on Chatam, right on Maynard and a left on High House to get home.
