A Q-versary Murph

Last night during dinner I was explaining to my 2.0s what the workout for the next morning was going to be and why. As I read to them the heroic account of Micheal P Murphy and his ensuing death I became immediately convicted of why I called the Murph for a workout. While physically it is quite a challenge, my hope is as we endeavor to complete such a feat that we are taking a moment to remember the all the great men and women who risk their lives everyday in defense of the United States of America. When you arrive at Tortoises early you have to join Theismann in ECPs. Spartan, MaBell, Red Ryder and Theismann were already knocking them out, so I did a couple sets with them. I had prepared music to last 52 minutes, so at 5:23am the mellow piano of Floyd Cramer (playlist is below) greeted the 29 PAX as they stumbled in from the gloom. At 5:30 we moseyed over to the front lot, circled up and did: [Read More]

The Bay of Fundy

I did something this morning that I have never done. No, not that. I Q’ed an AO where I had never posted. But it was the last one on the list and it needed to be done. And it was fitting that Term Paper was there to present me with the Award for Q’ing all AOs before the end of the year. (Note: One of the statements above is not true. [Read More]

No Music - Plenty of Heavy Lifting

D YHC has been absent from posting due to family and travel. So it was good to get back into the swing of things with my second Q…..much appreciated Frisco…… We were 16 strong HIMS this morning. My apologies for not getting all 16 listed. There were tech difficulties with the video on my phone and I was not able to get everyone accounted for….as some may have thought YHC is not perfect [Read More]

1stF #7 of 7 BD & F3’versary Q-week: What a Rucking great time with a lot of moisture.

Believe it or not, rucking was not one of those workouts I had in mind when I was developing the personal challenge and I’m so glad I used it as the pinnacle of the beatdowns. Don’t get me wrong, the other beatdowns is as it sounds, beatdowns! They were all a lot of fun to Q. What spurred the need to add rucking to the list of Q’s and to make it the pinnacle of my BD F3’versary Q week stemmed from the Rucking/F3/FIA Triple Down Convergence. [Read More]

The Thang: Get a partner for partner 11’s on the hill. Basically just 11’s but handing with another dude. [Read More]

Our brother Chinese Downhill was scheduled to Q at Dante’s Peak this morning, but something came up and he needed someone to cover for him. We talked this week about picking up the six, here it is in action. Trike agreed to take the Q, and asked YHC to co-Q with him, so let’s go. Warm-Up 23 pax make our way down to the circle at the end of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops. [Read More]
