6 Inches

Hall of Famer Yogi Berra was once asked if he wanted his pizza pie sliced into 8 or 16 pieces… Yogi replied “ya better make it 8, I don’t think I can eat 16”. Sometimes the numbers can be deceptive so when we began our Claymore beat down with a partner combined 200 burpees, a few of the pax gave me stares and some a what the… look. Broken down to 10 sets of 10 sounds better right? [Read More]

Crosswalk to Crosswalk

23 in total for YHC’s first crack at Lion’s Den. With some Google Satellite the night before a plan was made. There were some EC runners, some twins in the same shirts, some yoga pants, and a flag. It’s go time! 0530 - Disclaimer and Pledge Warmup lap threw off Franklin so much he quit and waited for the pax to circle the loop and come back. Then YHC went vanilla #shutinsignaturewarmup: GMs, HBs, Merkins, SSHs [Read More]

Lucky 7's? No Triple 7's with NO running

8 pax with no FNGs, brief disclaimer shared, only 1 pax actually read the pre-blast; “Ponder this question before tomorrow.. What is something you have done in the last 1 to 5 years that has changed your life to the positive? The answer cannot be F3 or praying, unless that was the catalyst.” Since the Skipper did not bless us with his presence, we’ll mosey up to tennis court parking area: [Read More]

More like HIMstamine, am I right?

Holy hell, dat yellow stuff is everywhere. Regardless, we pushed through. A group of HIM out for an EC run, and YHC set off to chase down Theismann for ECP. Check out our convo on getting better on today’s PUT6. We wrapped up recording just in time to hear the pax getting restless, it must be spot on 0545. A backwards run for the Q gave me a chance to drop the moving disclaimer on the pax before we’re up to the lot for warmups. [Read More]

Just in Time Training

I still don’t wear a watch during these workouts. While it’s always good to see Biner, unless he’s Qing of course (then you just have to channel your inner Spartan warrior), he provided the necessary time checks along the way during this particularly time sensitive workout. It was only time sensitive in that we were traveling a long way from the flag and everyone likes arrive home on time. 17 showed, 2 kept Sooey company as he continues his recovery walks, so 14 of launch for a trip around the Apex Lake. As Easy as 1-2-4

It’s a little known secret that when YHC Qs sometimes I transpose numbers or leave out/imply the unimportant ones. It isn’t really an issue though because I am still considered the best Q in Carpex (In fact, Ma Bell has even taken me aside a number of times and offered to pay for me to attend an elite Q school called Camp Gladiator for the next few years.) But there is always room for improvement so YHC thought long and hard about how to deal with all of these ’numbers’. [Read More]

Kotters, Crimson

A lot of chatter the night before about the amount of chatter coming YHC’s way this morning. Had a nice little vanilla workout planned, but the return of our brother Crimson pulled big crowd, and most of them are big talkers. Modify as needed has a new meaning. Warm-Up Mosey over to the church entrance and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies (cause we’re in Apex), Sir Fazios and cotton pickers. [Read More]

Start Late, Finish Early

4am. 10 month old is up and Daddy Dooty begins. Roughly 510, YHC sneeks out of nursery, dresses and hits the door in hopes to make the 520 pre run. As I come flying in, I see an empty parking lot. Luckily, Denali arrives a few min later and we take off on a leisurely stroll through Cary’s finest back roads. 542, we both realize we are going to be late getting back. [Read More]

Twas a starry night in the gloom which was ideal to bring on some Thunderstruck!

Date: 3/18/2019 QIC: WWW AO: A Team PAX: 15 For some reason, Sky Q forgot to turn on the heater. Albeit being a crisp / brisk morning, it was a blessing to be out there leading the PAX in the workout. Sooey graced us with his presence to get his walk in. Sooey is da Man because he did not wait long to get back out in the gloom. There is always one or two PAX that would not mind taking a walk with him. [Read More]

Just Getting Started!

After some debate on which parking lot we should circle up in we stuck with the standard operating procedure for SWW. After a delivery of the disclosures to our FNG we moseyed over to the back parking lot for some warm-up. SSH x 20 Sir Fazio Forward x 11 Sir Fazio Backward x 11 Seal Clap x 11 Merkins x 15 Calf Stretch Thang 1 Next, YHC had the PAX mosey to the Baseball Field and line up facing the outfield/infield from the 3rd base line.
