Who Needs a Warm-Up, Not Tortoise!

A nice cool, cloudy, gloom day greets us for another round of beatdowns at the Tortoise. Visitors from out of town, Ma Bell and Wilbur, round out the hearty group of 6. Everyone there on time and no FNGs we head out to the parking lot for a round of warm-ups using quick feet and heel raises. No time at Tortoise for other warm-ups because we need to hit it and get it (to be honest I forgot). [Read More]

Great weather, Great crew, Great site, No Nantan, No site Q, oh what to do....

Thanks to Nature Boy for texting me yesterday asking me if I was attending A-Team. In response - I checked the Q schedule and what to my wondering eyes did appear - but my name next to the Q spot for today. I guess that seals it, I should attend. Planning can be overrated - just ask Callahan. Arrived this morning to find gates closed (nothing new here) but spring is in the air and everyone seemed to have extra pep in their step. [Read More]

What to Expect When You're Expecting

As a fairly frequent Q and poster to Carpex workouts I feel like I’m a pretty good numbers guesser. This is key when planning a workout. Helps you to pick the right excercises, etc etc. So for this workout I planned for about 12. There were 6 the week before and then average numbers were mid teens. Good guess right? There were 23. And that’s with Open Out fartsacking as I waited out from of his house for a few minutes. [Read More]

Limited Run or No Run

Earhart and I did some EC and arrived 8 minutes early to scout the potential equipment/locations to mix up the Q site. Pull up bars…Not really Ball Frenzy Pit….Maybe we could us Weird retaining pond hill….Definitely Nothing too earth shattering but many small obstacles that could be incorporated to get a good lather going. Imagination will be the key to unlocking the potential this site has when you look at all angles. [Read More]

March. Its Madness, Beast Unleashed

It has been a tough two days for YHC with Kentucky’s loss to Carolina. We played carelessly, without the abandon needed to close, giving away unnecessary FGs, missing critical layups, dunks, and free throws. YHC has seen the replays. Yes there were some bad calls (some really bad). John Higgins [rooferies.com] best be glad he lives in Omaha. But we lost by 2 points, 2 that were missed earlier in the game multiple times.
