Exicon DEF

Some of you know I am on a mission to go through the Exicon A-Z over the course of many workouts. Today, 16, took part in Exicon D, E & F. 4 came in strong for IronPAX. Warmup - Duck & weave (probably to never make another showing) 10 Daisy Pickers Thang 1 - Descending Deconstructed Double shot of jackees at each light pole. Perform the deconstructed jackees, decreasing by 1, and run to the back parking lot. [Read More]

It Looked Better On Paper

There is something interesting, something magical, that happens when you lead a group of men in the Gloom, but more on that later. My oh my, what an honor to VQ today. After a pledge of allegiance, 18 PAX moseyed up to the large pickle. Nature Boy, my trusty fall back in case I faltered in my inaugural Q, reminded me of the definition of Mosey. It is indeed not a saunter, and most definitely not a sprint. [Read More]

BRR 2020 - work begins now

YHC grabbed the Q at Kryponite on the first Monday post BRR 2019 hoping to have the runners out again but only Hello Kitty and Wonderbread were brave enough to post on the Monday morning after running parts of 200 miles in the mountains. My driver (Miss Daisy) or Nature Boy was coming in slow today so we rolled in at 5:28 and got quickly to work. Two laps of the pickle then some warm up that included, GM, IW, MC and R/L stretch. People actually showed up

As it was the Friday of the BRR, and having not seen much activity on Slack for people planning to show up for the Rolling Stone workout, and knowing there were only moderate SCs for the only official ruck AO in all of Carpex, I really didn’t have much planned out in advance for the crew that was anxiously awaiting my arrival at 0527. That all being said, there was a surprisingly large turnout for Rolling Stone, which in fact, blotted out the Bootcampers at GT by an almost 2:1 ratio. [Read More]

Riptide substitute

As you know, the responsibility of a site Q is to cover when a committed Q can no longer commit…just didn’t think it would happen week 1 as one of the two new site Qs. And where is Sky Blue and Goose? They are nowhere to be found… Welcome FNG Derby! Warm up 20 SSH 10 Good mornings 10 each fazio arm circles forward and backward, seal clap and overhead clap oh…and don’t forget 5 burpees for not counting this morning…except for beaker! [Read More]

Who said you can't go home again?

It was a glorious start to fall and a great day to be out in the gloom. What a better place to start the day than at Field of Dreams. Hard to believe that it has been over 4 years since Ma Bell and YHC started this AO. Today - one of my goals was to prove that you don’t have to always run up the hills to the top parking lot in order to have a proper beat down. [Read More]

Twice in a week at Sovereign Grace - this was slow and controlled with purpose

Very excited to be back at the hallowed grounds of Tortoises. I once thought the idea of a limited run workout was the only possible type of workout there was, however, that probably says more about my former fitness level then anything else. I now know how much harder it is to plan a limited run workout that really challenges the Pax. However, I believe I was able to today. [Read More]

Welcome to the US Air Force PT. 2 mins doesn’t seem like a long time.

Date: 8/28/19 PAX: Beaker, Bedpan, Brosef, Buzz Lightyear, Dirty Bomb, Ezekiel, Five Hole, Franklin, Geek Squad, Goose, Gump, Hotty Toddy, Kermit, Kilmer, Mozart, Nature Boy, Pigeon, Shut-In, Sky Blue, Swag, Trike, WWW As I continue my personal challenge to Q at least once a week, coming up with routine has become very interesting. I had several ideas in mind but since next month is the USAF birthday, I thought it would be a great time to introduce the PAX to the USAF PT test. [Read More]

The Beakentineheart Q

It seems like the only way I can Q these days is to jump in when other men need a hand (or sign up for early 2020 - I’m looking at you #AO-Mon-Wolverine). Although with the last kerfuffle of the triple switch Kitty, no, CD, no, Liverpool, no, Beaker Q, I made really darn sure I was taking over for the site and day I thought I was, and still half-expected someone else to start calling out the countdown. What are these Bells for anyway?

YHC did something a bit unusual and decided to Q a Kettle bell workout today. This one required some prep work and I hit the ground at the newest of locations for Hells Bells and was greeted with 24 brave souls. My ride for the day (or really for most days) Nature Boy was a bit delingquent today so Earhart was really sweatting whether or not we would make it. We did - three minutes to spare - no problem.
