Agility City: High-Tempo Style

Finally got to Q the AO known as Kryptonite, which is listed on the F3Carpex site as “high tempo”. That being said, it has always been unclear to me what “high tempo” exactly means in a F3 workout. Oh, YHC has been to quite a few of “high tempo” F3 workouts, including Kryptonite and F3 Raleigh’s Whiplash. Yes, the aforementioned “high tempo” workouts are without question more physically straining, but are they really high tempo? Sure felt like Krypton...

Disclaimer: YHC turns 45 tomorrow. This all looked good on paper. Y’all are in for an interesting week. Awoke early, excited about putting into play the little plan I worked up over a celebratory fondue dinner Sunday night (during dinner my 2.0s were even demonstrating some of the workout to my M. She was not impressed.) On the drive to the AO, I thought (maybe I better go see that stealthy little bridge, make sure we can get across it). 2017 in Review

Pre-BB We absolutely blew up GroupMe on its last official day in action when YHC asked the PAX to share what, in each HIM’s opinion, was the biggest event of 2017. Hilarity ensued. PAX eschewed work and risked loss of employment to contribute. It was all worth it, guys…IT WAS ALL WORTH IT! BB ‘Twas the last workout of the year and all through Bond Park, 20 warriors went a-running through the cold and the dark. [Read More]

Italian Stallions

Pre-BB Italian is pronounced | iˈtalyən | … NOT EYE-talian. FWIW BB Love this site … what a great core of HIM. 13 prize fighters joined YHC to go ten rounds with Rocky Balboa. Last week YHC Q’d at Dawn Patrol and took the men there through ten rounds with Mike Tyson…only CarPex men could handle this upgrade. Ring the bell…here we go… The Warmup - Pledge of Allegiance at the…wait…hey Site Q, where’s the flag? [Read More]

A Tortoise Leads the Hares

It’s 05:20 and I’m pulling into Regency Park wondering what have I gotten myself into? I’m a tortoise, I’m a clydesdale, I got no business posting at Kryptonite, much less Q’ing. Is this going to be a huge success, like the Titanic movie? Or a huge disaster, like the Titanic boat? Let’s find out. Warm-Up Take a left on Regency and mosey down to the parking lot on the left, circle up for side straddle hops, then find some curb for quick feet, curb plank jacks, curb mountain climbers and curb merkens. 40 Year-Old Virgin Q

June 2nd, 2017, YHC is having an early afternoon HH (I know you’re all shocked!) with a few old friends, when one of them says “Hey, what are you doing tomorrow morning?”. Of course, I was planning to do what I always do on Saturday mornings, sleep! This Saturday would be different. I woke up at 6 am…and hit the snooze. Woke up again at 6:20 and this time I managed to get myself out of bed. [Read More]

12 Days of Christmas Already?

Got to the park with 15 mins. to go and already had a couple people there. I chatted with Yoga Mat but headed off to see how far my warm up lap was. About 0.6 miles which would work nicely. Warm up Up the hill and around the parking lot to Chanticleer’s for Plank hold, 10 Plank Jacks, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 Good Mornings and 10 Donkey Kicks. Then we jogged back to the park. High-Tempo Molly Hatchet

17 of Carpex’s finest entered into the brisk gloom, 16 from automobiles and 1 from a bicycle. After auctioning off the Kryptonite Q yesterday, YHC still had the urge for a high tempo Q. Plans were made known via GroupMe (like by Hello Kitty and WKRP within 15 seconds) so YHC was guilt-free. And there was no need for guilt with this set of PAX, they all crushed it (as the kids say). Time Flies

11/21 2.4 mile string of pearl

19 pax for a 2.4 mile loop stopping at about 5 spots for some pain stations. Joe Smith led us for some Homer to Marge work at the LDS parking lot. We did some pull ups at the playground, a 10 count down the line inverted sunrise over US1, we finished with some one-arm merkins at the flag. Great work men! Dice gave us some great guidance on what F3 means to him. [Read More]
