Plan B. Think anyone noticed?

YHC signed up to Q arguably the toughest of CARPEx AO’s last week and immediately set to thinking about what to bring to the PAX. Pullups? Not at this sprawling hey pull-up-bar lacking site. Celebration Merkins? Ditto no… although the big shelter has plenty, there’s just not that much room? Compass Merkins? There’s a thought. But one of my fave’s are the baseball fields, providing an nice setting for low-mileage beatdowns. [Read More]

What's Your Kryptonite?

Conditions were 51 degrees, 50% foggy, and 50% gloomy. I inserted a pre-blast for coffeeteria at NY Bagels. Other pre-blast material was request from Burt for Agility City (see original Agility City here: (https://f3carpex.com/2017/05/09/agility-city/) , and a request from Largemouth for EC run because “the QIC was soft”. Of the three pre-blasts, only two were partially true. Then yesterday afternoon, the M informed me we would be hosting the cul-de-sac game night at our house. [Read More]

The Making of A Champion

The idea for this workout just fell into my lap. On Tuesday, there was some debate on Slack about what it takes to be a champion. Some would posit that showing up and staying makes you a champion. YHC would posit that deciding to get up at butt crack of dawn to attend a workout and sticking around is laudable, but is just a prerequisite to becoming a champion. Since YHC is the QIC, YHC gets to decide what constitutes a champion. [Read More]

OGs of DZ

Uuuughh Maybe 5 hours of sleep just isn’t enough to fully recover from a holiday party as lit as a Carpex party. It was in the 40’s, cloudy with a chance of rain (and/or merlot), and multiple PAX were feeling ROOOOUUGH. Burt, evidently, wasn’t one of them. He instead was up to his usual antics of yelling loudly. Flacco was not appreciative. Nor was I. YHC saw it was 0545 and took off around the pickle. [Read More]

Bye Bye November

Scooped this one on Wednesday from Pet Sounds - and I was hoping to craft a workout that he would be proud of. Let’s see how we did… FNG Check - WE HAVE ONE! Disclaimer… during which I remembered the F3 Mission Statement, but not the fact that I’m not a professional. d’oops Head out toward the greenway 10 merkins OMD at the entrance to the greenway Head out and make a left toward the underpass. XXX

11-19-88. It’s a number I’ve recorded a ton of times, and now it’s 30 years in the past. Warmup. This is Kryptonite, you get no warmup. Follow me out to Ederlee and the lake greenway entrance. Pause for 30 merkins, OMD. Partner up for a catch me if you can around the lake with 8 cadence prisoner squats (or just sprint if you’re Flip Flop). Rendezvous at the fence. 10 penalty burpees followed by 30 LBCs, IC. [Read More]

Carpex Triple down

‘Twas a chilly morning for the first annual Carpex Triple Down featuring a Ruck, F3 Phoenix, and FiA Moneypenny. Then there was also F3 Dads to boot (yes, that’s how you spell it; it’s not ’ta boot’ or ’taboot’ or any other of the bastardized versions I’ve seen afloatin’ around the interwebs). But I digress. YHC rolled in at t0 with some B-52s rocking the ol pickup. A few minutes later (we’ll call it t1) 12ish of us embarked on a cluster ruck (Triple Down Part 1) while a few others embarked on some runs. DZ for the prevention of DVT

YHC has been on the road a fair amount which adds a bit of stress both at home and on the body. Today’s DangerZone hopefully aids with prevention of the latter while I hope that the nice long Thanksgiving away will help with the former. I was recently interested in what one should do when traveling long distances to prevent problems associated with sitting on in a tiny aluminum tube for many many hours. [Read More]
