Merkin Monday (on a Friday)

Welcome to the 3rd installment of Flaccoversary Week 2018, and only the 2nd installment Q’d by YHC! After an unexpected business trip to Virginia preempted the 2nd installment (that was graciously Q’d by Sabre), YHC felt the need to get swolt. (And my legs aren’t working very well since the lungefest at SNS, so upper body seemed the way to go.) So my M went to Crate & Barrel to buy me something nice for my Flaccoversary, and she found Merkins on sale. [Read More]

Flacco's Shock & Awe!

DATE: September 27, 2018 QIC: Sabre AO: Bradford’s Ordinary PAX: (including Bruisers) 29 total gathered in Gloom of DTC (23 boot camp, 6 Bruisers, including a 1-legged Kitty, or is it Das Boot?!) 8 respects , 6 hates, 0 FNGs So I learned what “shock & awe” pre-blast means to Flacco – it means that he is going to hype an epic beatdown, then scoot out-of-state, give the ole neighbor a call to say …. Krippled Kitty

Hello Kitty busted up his ankle pretty good at F3 Dads last weekend, and after a few days in a walking boot was ready to get back in the gloom. That’s why we have Bruisers, so instead of fartsacking and sadclowning, the injured PAX can continue to get after with their brothers. Warm-Up Stroll from the flag to the bank while doing imperial walkers, Sir Fazios, merkins and mountain climbers along the way. [Read More]

Ode to Smaug

As a fan of the Lord of the Ring and Hobbit series I just had to run with this when I found it. The Pax showed up strong this morning including a FNG (kinda) Shut In, Parker and YHC got some ECP in early to get the blood flowing. When the bell rang this is how it went down. Disclaimer (because he wanted to be a FNG but really wasn’t. In truth I was a little confused so he got the disclaimer) [Read More]

Bruisers and Flying Circus dance

The gloom started great as we all gathered in anticipation of getting started. I started counting my Bruiser brothers and only had 4 HC including YHC. We were missing 1 … Disco Duck. As the 1 minute warning was echoed, still no DD. I checked my phone for a Slack message but there was none. DD did not show so I stepped in to lead the boys. I DM’d DD to check on him and he stated he had to fartsack because his whole body was speaking to him not in a good way. [Read More]

From Florence to Flora

If you’re like most of us much of your time, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy has been spent either preparing for, getting through or rebound from Hurricane Florence. And rightfully so. One of the great things about F3 is that it allows us to escape from the daily stresses and toil in a whole other way. This is how we went from Florence to Flora. Pledge of Allegiance Quick mosey that found us running backwards and high kneeing because I knew Frisco was enjoying himself too much. [Read More]

Slow. DOWN.

Occasionally, I like to sit on my porch and tell the kids (and defecating dogs) to stay off my lawn, to complain about the weather, reminisce about walking to school, upAndy, in the snow, both ways, and to yell at the cars to SLOW DOWN. That was the genesis of this workout. And, like almost any old man story, that is completely false. I actually realized about 1/7th of the way through Ma Bells ridiculous Hindenberg workout at FOD (the OG of Tuesday Carpex AOs) that my form was becoming exceedingly sloppy and rushed. How Not to Win Friends & Influence People

Someone mentioned to me last week that I had the Q this week at FOD. I had not remembered that. It would have been super embarrassing to travel across CarPEX Nation and miss a Q at FOD. I mean, who does that? Anyway, given this is the OG Tuesday AO in CarPEX, I wanted to bring it. Nobody splashed but the level of hatred thrown my way leads YHC to the following conclusion: mission accomplished. [Read More]

A River Runs Through It

I know all you Robert Redford fans are rolling your eyes right about now but trust me, I wouldn’t steal it if I truly didn’t need it. Now that Flo is no mo and being how we are the men of F3 it only made sense to me that we take the lead in returning our little community park back to pre-storm conditions (or at least the running path). As I pre-blasted, we’ll mosey around the Apex Lake clearing debris as we go. [Read More]
