Leading From The 6

So I’ll write my normal Frisco style HIDA BB below but after seeing Half do something at the office today I decided to put some HIM stuff first. As Half was walking down the hall he noticed a hair on the ground behind him and quickly ran back to check to see if it was one of his (it wasn’t). Still he picked it up and dropped it in a small golden case he carries. [Read More]

Ninety Two Percent

This was YHC’s first time out Qing Gran Torino. After studying the mess out of Google Maps the plan was set. YHC drove to up a few minutes before the normal 10min early mark YHC tries to hit, checked out the parking lot and saw the gates needed to get to where we were going today were locked soooo, change of plans! Warm Up Run the pickle? Loop? Bus circle? Do we have a name for it yet? [Read More]

The Legend of 44

15 HIMs joined me for my VQ on a cold, dark morning at the finest AO on a Thursday morning in NW Cary. After months of PAX asking if I owned a fruit stand, if my last name was Darling or if I accidentally forgot my F3 name (and received a girl’s name), today I shared the origins of Clementine, as well as a brief history on the Legend of 44 at Syracuse University (go Orange! Powerlines

We began the workout bright and early with a strong showing of 25 HIM’s. The weather was cold and damp but none of us regretted leaving the cozy fartsack for a morning of hard work and fellowship. Groundpounders

YHC rolled into Jones Park with WWW in his truck full of toys, ready to close out the Carpex-to-SW part of #QSwapWeek at Groundpounders. The parking lot filled up quickly with friendly faces, some from Carpex, some from South Wake, and before long we had a crowd too big to fit the workout we had meticulously planned. Looks like we need to modify, so we’ll modify as needed. Warm-Up WWW takes us on a lap around the pickle and circle up for good mornings, hamstring stretches, Sir Fazios forwards and backwards, air presses, seal claps, overhead claps, calf stretches with merkins, mountain climbers, and plank jacks. Plan B. Think anyone noticed?

YHC signed up to Q arguably the toughest of CARPEx AO’s last week and immediately set to thinking about what to bring to the PAX. Pullups? Not at this sprawling hey pull-up-bar lacking site. Celebration Merkins? Ditto no… although the big shelter has plenty, there’s just not that much room? Compass Merkins? There’s a thought. But one of my fave’s are the baseball fields, providing an nice setting for low-mileage beatdowns. [Read More]

Celebrating the King

A crisp morning greeted thirteen PAX as they descended upon the best lit Tuesday morning AO in all of Carpex. YHC and 6 others, including colleague Arts n Crafts from Chicago, were led by Repeato on a little EC run on the greenways around the Scottish Hills neighborhood. It’s 5:45, so time to get started. Jog to the left parking lot (after going back for phone and bluetooth speaker that would come into play later. [Read More]

Merkinpalooza

When you arrive at Tortoises early you have to join Theismann in ECPs. Spartan, MaBell, Red Ryder and Theismann were already knocking them out, so I did a couple sets with them. I had prepared music to last 52 minutes, so at 5:23am the mellow piano of Floyd Cramer (playlist is below) greeted the 29 PAX as they stumbled in from the gloom. At 5:30 we moseyed over to the front lot, circled up and did: [Read More]
