17,884 days down; 1 to go.

What a great morning! We had EC runners & ruckers; ME boot campers, ruckers, stretchers and rehabbers; 2 FNGs; visitor from New Bern; and a wide spectrum of guys who have been with Carpex from its earliest days to those who have been posting for just a few days. As it was stated often today, “Who has it better than us?” On the eve of my 49th birthday, it’s safe to say that I am in the best physical, emotional and mental shape I’ve been, in a long time. Limited Run Spartan Training (#2)

QIC: Parker AO: Tortoises (5/15/19) Yep, Build-a-Bear is still in my head about the grip strength for this Spartan Super in July. Having the Tortoises Q, YHC knew there were plenty of options to work on some upper body and grip strength at the loveliest AO in central Apex on a Wednesday. So let’s get after it! Warm up: Mosey about 500 feet and circle up. Even that was too far for Frisco, of course chanting the standard “I thought this was a limited run AO! [Read More]

Sooey's BACK!

Tomorrow marks the 90 day mark from when YHC had L5-S1 spinal fusion. In a way, that went by quick but in a way that seems like forever ago. YHC only ‘missed’ two weeks of F3 during the initial recovery, making it a point to post 3-4 days a week. The PAX really stepped up to keep me company on what was branded as the Sooey Shuffle. Thank you for everyone for all of the support and encouragement during the recovery process! [Read More]

Til Valhalla

By chance, the Q for Rolling Stone this week was vacant when Hello Kitty sent out the Sunday night lineup for the week. By even better chance, Friday was May 3rd, the third anniversary of the death of Naval Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Charles H. Keating IV (SEAL). See, I did not know Charlie. He grew up in Arizona and was an elite runner who ended up at Indiana University on scholarship. [Read More]

Tortoises musical beat down!

I couldn’t have asked for a better morning to host my first Q, along with Squatters help. We did have an FNG, so the pledge was recited, F3 Mission and disclaimer. The only running of the morning was a quick mosey around the lot and then circled up for our warm-ups. Warm-Ups Side Straddle Hops Good Morning Abe Vigoda Cotton Picker The Thang #1 Bearway to Heaven- bearcrawl 2 parking lot spaces followed by 7 burpees, mosey back to start line, bearcrawl 4 parking lot spaces followed by 6 burpees, continue until 0 burpees remain. Spartan Training #1 at A Team

Date: 4/30/2019 QIC: Parker YHC signed up for the Asheville Spartan Super later this summer, following in the footsteps of Build-a-Bear, GTL, Malpractice, Spartan, and I’m sure a bunch of other PAX who enjoy this sort of thing. BaB just keeps telling YHC to work on grip strength, so that’s what we set out to do today at A-Team. 15 PAX gathered at the gate, disclaimer and F3 mission statement given, Pledge said, and off we go. Brother Bri and the letter B

When scrolling through the Exicon in search for new ideas that have not (to YHC’s knowledge) been executed in/around Carpex and you don’t even get past the letter B… you know it’s going to be a good day. _NMS: YHC was ready for EC this morning, but the old bowels had another idea in mind. EC was skipped for a trip to Harris Teeter and back._ 22 Bros meet up at the Field of Dreams. [Read More]
