Ode to Smaug

As a fan of the Lord of the Ring and Hobbit series I just had to run with this when I found it. The Pax showed up strong this morning including a FNG (kinda) Shut In, Parker and YHC got some ECP in early to get the blood flowing. When the bell rang this is how it went down. Disclaimer (because he wanted to be a FNG but really wasn’t. In truth I was a little confused so he got the disclaimer) [Read More]

The Clean up Continues

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry… as did this Q. Having pledged our allegiance we moseyed about 5 lights down for a quick warm up. WARM UP We acknowledged ‘76 once again in the as it was a year that would forever change the course of my parents life. Performed 4 sets of Merkins (20,20,20,16 = 76). Between the sets we Side Straddle Hop, Good Morning, American Hammer, Australian Snow Angel. [Read More]

A River Runs Through It

I know all you Robert Redford fans are rolling your eyes right about now but trust me, I wouldn’t steal it if I truly didn’t need it. Now that Flo is no mo and being how we are the men of F3 it only made sense to me that we take the lead in returning our little community park back to pre-storm conditions (or at least the running path). As I pre-blasted, we’ll mosey around the Apex Lake clearing debris as we go. [Read More]

Rocking the Kettle Bells

Rocking the Kettle Bells Nothing fancy. Kinda vanilla but any vanilla workout with 80’s rock music is all good. YHC went back to the good old days of rock and pulled out 10 all time favorite songs so we could rock the bells at Hells Bells. On the musical agenda were: Journey - Wheel in the Sky Bob Seger - Night Moves (Mandatory for Disco Duck) Guns N Roses - Sweet Child of Mind Heart - Barracuda Ozzy - Crazy Train Boston - More than a feeling Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin' [Read More]

B R aRen't

18 Pax made it out to Hunter Street Park for a lovely 74 degree and 94 percent humid morning. Slack chatter was looking for an unfriendly BRR beatdown. Lots of mileage was logged yesterday so YHC agreed. See, not always Angry Shutty. Sometimes Very Accomodating Shutty. Here’s what went down after the 0545 disclaimer and Shut-In Shignature warmup… Thang 1: Plank-o-rama First pax took a lap around the soccer field fence and circled back up at the skate park. 11 x 2 = 22

Second Q ever for YHC was to the point with some room for improvement. Cadence counts are getting better and everyone had fun… I think. It was quiet, not much in the way of mumble chatter for this beatdown. Thanks to the 18 that showed for the track work and 22’s. It was a beatdown and according to GTL possibly a new record for distance with the 3.5 miles we racked up. [Read More]

KB Beatdown

My first Q for Hells Bells. Focus was on HIIT with brief rest intervals. I may have rigged the timer to make the 20 seconds longer and the 10 second rest shorter. Warm up Mosey around trail to pull up bars for 5x Circle up and do Side Straddle Hop, Imperial walkers, Homer to Marge, 5 Burpees OYO, KB Halos, Runners Stretch and deep squat holds w/ KB Thang 1 [Read More]

Advertising works!

YHC has been out of Carpex for the past few days exploring F3 out west in St. Louis and was really looking forward to being back home. Since there isn’t much to do outside of work when traveling YHC was advertising the upcoming beat down all week on slack. And let’s just say that the adverting brought out the numbers - 32 PAX joined my in south Carpex on this fine Friday morning. [Read More]
