Clock, block, and rock work

Inspired earlier in the week by Hermes’ rule [1], YHC grabbed the Q yesterday morning, and then was unexpectedly roped into 3 separate happy hours (2 liquor-themed, 1 beer) that afternoon (all virtual, MADD can rest assured) so planning time consisted of waking up, throwing on some clothes, and the 10-min drive in. Theismann was already there doing pull-ups. Earhart showed up looking like a teenager with a serious case of bedhead. [Read More]

Tired

This is going to be short. Sorry fellas. I’m beat. Kids are out of town still so last night the M and I went to dinner at Hank’s Dive Bar in DTC. It’s not really a dive but the drinks are good and the fried cauliflower is fantastic. Recommended. I had seen Chewie walk by the window earlier in the evening so as we were leaving I gave the place a bit of a scan to see if I would spot him. [Read More]

Who's Your Uncle?

The Back Story After fifteen hours of rain from Tropical Storm Elsa, the skies parted and left a beautiful Carpex just ready for something special – YHC’s first Q. And what an auspicious occasion it was! I knew I took a long time to finally get to this place and there were a lot of guys that encouraged, pushed, and flat-out razzed me to get here. Thank you all for that. [Read More]

Double Sevens!

So YHC made the mistake of asking earlier in the week who had the Q for Piranha Park on Saturday. Well, site Q Peeping Tom replied no one and asked if I wanted to take it. I said maybe, so naturally he just went ahead and put my name on the sheet. Fair enough, let’s see what I can do with an hour… Warmup: Pledge of allegiance to the flag and mission statement and off we head out of the park towards the road. [Read More]

Learning Portuguese

Big crowd this morning, fortunately there were more bells than pax. Two or three pax with an EC run, plus Kwik Stop for EC tire flippin'. Warm-Up Lap around the parking lot and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios, copperhead merkins and squats, control freak good mornings. The Thang Tabata, 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest, four rounds, four sets, four exercises, with a lap between each round. [Read More]

Peaches & The Giant Winkie

Welp… YHC has been in town now for 3 months, so it was due time to stop making excuses and get to Q’ing. At this point, I’ve had the privilege to meet most of ya in the gloom. If we’ve mumblechattered together, you probably have heard a few things that I do and don’t like when called by a Q. 1. I hate bearcrawling 2. I’m a fan of a good winkie [Read More]

Garbage Plate

13 pax weren’t about to let a little rain stop us from enjoying this beautiful morning. Warm-Up Mosey to the end of the lot and circle up for daisy pickers, hillbillies, Sir Fazios, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats and control freak good mornings. The Thang Mosey from the south entrance to the north entrance with two merkins at each light pole. Continue our mosey to the big, beautiful soccer field. Using only half the field mosey to each corner for ten squats, with a return to the center for three burpees between corners. [Read More]

Run FOD Run!

Apparently I’m being accused of becoming a runner as of late. With that thought, I did consider running into FOD this morning, but as it’s 4.5 each way + the workout I had planned I thought the better of it. Plus part of the route being a bit dicey (2 lane road and dark) I opted for the drive in. With my plan ready to go and with FOD being a “late start AO”, I arrived early for a solo 3/4 mile EC. This Sucked But We Saved Some Kittens

14 pax gathered at the den of the lion with no FNGs and we are off (2 runners joined us for COT) Brief mosey followed by basic warm up of SSH, Hillbillies and Sir Fazios (to get shoulders loosened up for merkins). 1, no make it 3 penalty burpees for the late arrival of Tramp Stamp. 1-18 David Goggins style merkins meandering through the myriad of parking areas ending up on Town Side Drive. Back in the Saddle

Workout Date: 04/26/21 YHC took a vacation road trip for a family wedding the week after March Madness. I had looked up some DR AOs, but ultimately just took vacation. Getting back to posting in April after that was difficult. I posted twice the entire two weeks after vacation. I decided I needed to Q to get myself out of the fart sack (and to get back on pace with my personal Q challenge). [Read More]
