Tighten Up

Lots of mumble chatter on social media this week about parts of Carpex that we needed to tighten up. Somebody’s gotta do it, might as well be YHC. Warm-Up Mosey over to the bank and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, copperhead squats, plank jacks and copperhead merkins. The Thang Mosey down to the library and partner up. Partner one will take a lap around the library parking lot while partner two alternates ten reps of two exercises. [Read More]

The password is "Repeato"

They say repetition is the key to mastery. If this is true then the HIM at Tortoises have reached the level of “Master” at receiving a full body beatdown. Shifu Xinkule. Prior to the workout Disco Duck, Earhart, Freebird and YHC enjoyed a relaxing 3-mile EC. It was a nice run, however we were almost tased by a female Apex police officer for running on the road instead of the sidewalk. [Read More]

Traveling Band

YHC woke up excited to Q his first kettle bell workout. Hopped in the car, pulled out of the neighborhood and glanced at the clock. 5:30. @#$% that’s the starting time for Hell’s Bells, I’m already late. Panic shoots through me. Then I wake up, for real this time. Grab the phone and see it’s still four-something. Everything’s gonna be all right. Warm-Up Every man grabs a kettle bell (a “travelling” kettle bell) and we mosey down to the circle for side straddle hops, hillbillies, Sir Fazios and cotton pickers. [Read More]

4 x 4's

YHC arrived a few minutes early, excited to Q in the gloomiest gloom in Carpex on a Friday morning. I looked around and didn’t see a guy in a hockey mask with a machete, but I did see an FNG named Daniel, so he got the F3 disclaimer. As we got closer to 0545 I saw lots of PAX but no site Q’s. Finally Oofta rolled up, but without the flag. [Read More]

School Daze

I gotta tell you, YHC was not feeling too good today. Lots of sniffling and sneezing over the last 24 hours, but what could be a better cure than getting after it with my brothers? Maybe a hot toddy and a nap, but this was a close second. Warm-Up Mosey over to the parking deck and up to the top level and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers and Sir Fazios. You never forget your first time

…that’s kind of true, but when in doubt just reference the backblast. On May 10th, 2017 a dude named Dice showed up to SNS on the invite of his buddy Jamie. It was weird because all the guys were calling him “Repeato,” never the less, on a brisk (to me at the time) 54 degree morning I logged my first Carpex beatdown at the hands of a one “Earhart.” Hello Kitty was born and I’ve mildly gravitated to F3 activities… [Read More]

"Rage against the dying of the light..."

Note: Since I just got access to Wordpress, this is a catch-up Backblast from February… Seven PAX showed up in the warm gloom to practice raging against the dying of the light through the SVG parking lot. No FNGS, so straight into warmup of Good Mornings, Side Straddle hops, Double Cotton Pickers (at Crimson’s request) and Imperial Walkers. Amid the MumbleChatter, the PAX moseyed to the hill nearby for the first Thang. [Read More]

Lewis (and Kirk)

It’s a beautiful day in downtown Cary, and YHC plants the flag, armed with a workout plan that might involve the pain sticks. But as the the clock ticks 5:45 YHC realizes this will be a solo adventure, so the original plan gets shelved for a later date and today’s workout becomes an exploratory run. With the longer days we have parts of the area available to us that we couldn’t use in the darkness of winter. [Read More]

Bounty Hunters 4/26/18 The '90's

19 PAX came out to hear the greatest tunes of the ‘90’s but, alas, YHC did not realize the charge only lasts a day. So only the birds accompanied us in our endeavors. Off for a quick lap around the lacrosse field to circle up in the skate park for warm-ups. Warm-up Side Straddle Hop, Good Mornings, Sir Fazio Arm Circles, Merkins Fellowship run to the Apex Town Parking Lot. [Read More]
