The Bay of Fundy

I did something this morning that I have never done. No, not that. I Q’ed an AO where I had never posted. But it was the last one on the list and it needed to be done. And it was fitting that Term Paper was there to present me with the Award for Q’ing all AOs before the end of the year. (Note: One of the statements above is not true. [Read More]

1stF #6 of 7 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Technical difficulties and assumptions did not sway the beatdown - Plan B modification at its best

The morning was wonderful. I had my plan all ready to go so I was not worried. I arrived to Seymour Park early. I was ready so I got out of the car and started to stretch. Theismann shows up to do some EC pull-ups. I went with him for fellowship. I’m still bummed that I cannot do regular pull-ups … injuries suck!!! About fifteen minutes left to start Hotty Toddy shows up so I flapped jack with him and headed back to the flag to prepare. [Read More]

1stF #7 of 7 BD & F3’versary Q-week: What a Rucking great time with a lot of moisture.

Believe it or not, rucking was not one of those workouts I had in mind when I was developing the personal challenge and I’m so glad I used it as the pinnacle of the beatdowns. Don’t get me wrong, the other beatdowns is as it sounds, beatdowns! They were all a lot of fun to Q. What spurred the need to add rucking to the list of Q’s and to make it the pinnacle of my BD F3’versary Q week stemmed from the Rucking/F3/FIA Triple Down Convergence. [Read More]

1stF #5 of 6 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Larry got that Thang in the middle – 12 Days of Christmas.

BO holds a dear place in my heart because it was the 2ndpost I’ve done when I started in F3. Ma Bell was the Q and I got my introduction to the 12 Days of Christmas. 12 Days of Christmas is to spur happiness and gift giving. OH NO!!!! It provided pain and fatigue. I had to bring it back for the nostalgia it brings. 0545 start – I introduced my Co-Q Franklin who DM me earlier in the week to Co-Q because he had to fulfill the role at BO to complete his leadership challenge. 1stF #4 of 6 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Plan B – 11s with multiple burpees taboot

On my drive to Tortoises in the blistering 27⁰ temperature, I took a small detour to scope out the AO. The original area I wanted to do my planned thang would not work due to safety concerns, black ice. Safety is ALWAYS #1 in my mind when leading a group of HIM. I reverted to Plan B. As I got into my parking spot, Theismann and Spartan were getting after ECP. 1stF #2 of 6 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Courir le Cornichon with some stuff in between

As I arrived at the Claymore, I thought I was going to be the first one there. I was wrong, Disco Duck was waiting. I didn’t just pull into the parking spot. I drove around the AO to get the lay of the land. DD gave me a perturbed look wondering what the hell is WWW doing. There is a method to my madness. As I drove around, all I can see is water everywhere … there was not a single dry spot. 1stF #3 of 6 BD & F3’versary Q-week: Train Delay! In the nick of time for some F3 Deck of Pain after some Thunderstruck.

As I was making my way to Rush Hour from work, in hopes of minimal traffic, everything looked good until I get to DTC. As I was pulling up to Chatham, I see the railroad bars blinking and start its descent. I have 20 mins to get to the AO, change out of my work clothes and into workout clothes. All I can think of was HOLY HELL, I am going to be late because I cannot see the end of the train cars. Kittens in their mittens

Great title, stole it from Duck’s Slack post. 31 on the Steve, raining and a bunch of junk on the ground after some early December snow. Purrfect. Warm-up: After a quick huddle up to set expectations, we’re off. Mosey into the park, ensure footing is secure, run up the street. Circle up for stuff. The Thang: Get a partner for partner 11’s on the hill. Basically just 11’s but handing with another dude. [Read More]

Warning and Warming

Our brother Chinese Downhill was scheduled to Q at Dante’s Peak this morning, but something came up and he needed someone to cover for him. We talked this week about picking up the six, here it is in action. Trike agreed to take the Q, and asked YHC to co-Q with him, so let’s go. Warm-Up 23 pax make our way down to the circle at the end of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops. [Read More]
