Taco Tuesday

A half dozen High Impact Men came out to the sunniest gloom in all of Carpex to get stronger. Let’s go! Warm-Up Mosey around the Page-Walker building and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers and cotton pickers. Here comes Ollie and Mojo, so let’s do another round. The Thang Mosey over to the big fountain and split into two groups, one group AMRAPs dips while the other group runs up the stairs and around the courtyard, then flapjack. [Read More]

We Don't Need No Stinking P

Eight PAX gathered in the well-lit gloominess of St. Mary Magdalene church. It was just above the freezing mark, the temperature dropping more than the Steve had predicted at 9:00 pm the night before. Sour Mash gives the disclaimer, and with the freshly painted Lion’s Den shovel flag firmly anchored in the cold turf, we pledge our allegiance. Warm Up Mosey around the lot, with some backwards running, high knees, and butt kickers. [Read More]

Bartmanniversary IV

23 PAX turned out this fine morning to help YHC celebrate four years of gloom. That’s right, this week marks 48 months of getting after it, and it’s as if A-Team hasn’t changed a bit. PAX in the low 20’s, rain more often than it should, and a bunch of go-getters ready to hit it. A 2-mile EC led by Disco was the perfect apertif. Mosey to the front parking lot and circle up. Woke Up Without a Plan

When I announced what we were doing this morning I was accused of waking up without a plan. Not true, I knew two weeks ago I was borrowing this workout from Banjo. If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for me. Warm-Up Mosey down the road by the pond and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies, cotton pickers, and because no one except Old Maid was counting loud enough for YHC to hear, 10 burpees OYO. For Which It Stands

No shovel flag this morning, but there was a flag draped over a tree limb, so we pledged allegiance to it and then we were off. Warm-Up Mosey almost all the way around the pickle and circle up for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, cotton pickers, Sir Fazios (all in perfect cadence) and then Nature Boy led us in the loudest Good Mornings ever. The Thang Mosey out of the park, take a right and head over to the office park next door. [Read More]

"I am rather inclined to silence" Abraham Lincoln

28 HIMs showed up for my VQ and TCLAPS to Liverpool for the EC run (Hoping if I tired him out enough he would limit the MC he promised to deliver. Today I learned never to underestimate that man and his ability to talk) 0530 hit, disclaimer and we recited the pledge. Checked my weinke and it said mosey so we did. Warm-Up Ran the path along the railroad tracks - stopped at the batting cages and 5 burpees OYO - remember the batting cages [Read More]

Y'all Hear That???

At 0515, YHC started the fellowship mosey of a half-mileish to that newest of AOs, Lion’s Den, with Hello Kitty and Smithers in tow. Who doesn’t want a brand-spanking new AO virtually in their back yard? Upon arrival Sour Mash is there with the newly purchased but not yet completed shovel flag. Soon a Baker’s Dozen PAX have assembled and the clock strikes 0530. One FNG, the disclaimer is pronounced, Allegiance is pledged, and Sour Mash takes the reigns. [Read More]

EH Your M

Your right. It had nothing to do with the 1stF this morning which is generally the purpose of a BB but from where I stood this morning it was the most significant thing I said. We spend our mornings pouring into ourselves and each other by way of strength building, creating comradery and lifting each other’s concerns up and we do it in the name of being better men, husbands and community leaders.
