AO: Rush Hour Date: 5/7/19 PAX: Biner, Disco Duck, Kermit, Theismann, WWW, Skipper (Ruck), O’douls (EC run) As a personal goal, I try to post atleast 4-6 times a week. My 2019 goal is to Q atleast once a week. This week was a busy week for me due to work commitments so I had to double down on Tuesday (FWD & RH). Disco Duck Q’d FWD; hence, the meaning for the BB title. [Read More]

No Merkins Today, Boys!

After yesterday’s chest and shoulder Kitty Kluster at Sippery When Wet, YHC decided it to be leg and abs morning. With the Brave and Mighty Oliie posting for a solo 5-mile EC, the remaining 23 less motivated PAX assembled for the pledge and headed out on a mosey across High House for a warm up. Let it be noted that Pet Sounds posted, fresh from RDU and red-eye from Cali! [Read More]

Burtflop

Well, Ultimate Frisbee season started up, so posting to Carpex workouts has been limited by soreness and/or injuries. I haven’t posted in about 3 weeks, so I was pumped to take the Q at DangerZone this morning. Of course I was expecting to be greeted to a heroes welcome, or strut into the AO while a boombox is blasting the Welcome Back Kotter’s theme song. Nope, none of those happened. Instead the night before, Sabre is skeaning me for not having some sort of a Pre-Blast, Peeerogi is questioning my mobility to Q, and CK is DM’ing me constantly…with his only interest of bequeathing me with his old bicycle inner-tubes with advice to utilize said inner-tubes during the Q for resistance running “in case you can’t think of any exercises to do”. Solid group of 20 gathered in the parking lot ready to do some work. Kitty gives the disclaimer, quizzes the PAX about the 5 core principles and we are off. 21 for 22's

Warm-Up Mosey out of the park and safely across Cary Parkway to the office park and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios forward and reverse. Notice Red Ryder’s smiling face as he sneaks into the circle, ask the site Q’s what time we start, confirm my suspicion that he’s late, reward his tardiness with ten burpees OMD (#noOYObro). Close out the warm-up with good mornings and criticism of my cadence. [Read More]

Wild Card

It was a special morning at Danger Zone for YHC, with my long-time good buddy Hacksaw coming over from Raleigh to co-Q. Warm-Up Start with a lap around the pickle (including the stem at the entrance) then circle up on the basketball court for good mornings, windmills and imperial walkers. With the PAX properly warmed up Hacksaw tells them he knew YHC before I was known as Disco Duck, he knew me when it was Wild Bill Deese. [Read More]

Two Bricks in Hand is better than One in the ... nvm

When Frisco asked me to Q Claymore, I was more than happy to oblige him. We settled on a date until we didn’t. In typical Frisco fashion, he had already promised the agreed upon date to another PAX. So YHC happily shifted to the right on the calendar and here we were. On a lovely 62 degree morning, Annie Jones Park was our oyster. Twelve gathered for the Pledge of Allegiance where in the shadow of Old Glory sat a yard cart full of landscape bricks YHC pulled from his garage that morning. [Read More]

Tortoises musical beat down!

I couldn’t have asked for a better morning to host my first Q, along with Squatters help. We did have an FNG, so the pledge was recited, F3 Mission and disclaimer. The only running of the morning was a quick mosey around the lot and then circled up for our warm-ups. Warm-Ups Side Straddle Hops Good Morning Abe Vigoda Cotton Picker The Thang #1 Bearway to Heaven- bearcrawl 2 parking lot spaces followed by 7 burpees, mosey back to start line, bearcrawl 4 parking lot spaces followed by 6 burpees, continue until 0 burpees remain. Spartan Training #1 at A Team

Date: 4/30/2019 QIC: Parker YHC signed up for the Asheville Spartan Super later this summer, following in the footsteps of Build-a-Bear, GTL, Malpractice, Spartan, and I’m sure a bunch of other PAX who enjoy this sort of thing. BaB just keeps telling YHC to work on grip strength, so that’s what we set out to do today at A-Team. 15 PAX gathered at the gate, disclaimer and F3 mission statement given, Pledge said, and off we go. In a Spring Daze

What is the meaning of all of this traffic coming into Bond Park at 0615? I would love to say the 50 cars YHC observed roll in in about about a 10 minute span where pax upon pax coming to receive the highly anticipated beat-down that was near to launch hosted by yours truly. But alas they were not. While the pax turnout of 25 was nothing to sneeze at, this was not going to be a typical quiet morning with the 310 acres of Bond Park to ourselves. [Read More]
