Didn't Mean to Asterisk

YHC had a strange Sunday night. Two brews at the pool and things get discombobulated apparently. Took a “nap” from 1900-2000, then put the kids to bed, then put on the marriage study audiobook for Monday’s 3rdF at Starbucks by Costco from 0645-0715 and proceeded to wake up with the light on, one earbud in and the clock reading 0100…and no plan for the Krypto beatdown in place. 20 mins later the beatdown is planned and the light is off. Gloves optional, Shoes required

13 HIMs (most of them with shoes) met for a high-tempo beatdown at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. A handful of the pax had just spent an awesome weekend camping with the 2.0’s at Hanging Rock State Park and had some extra calories to burn off. After brief mumblechatter and confirming all Pax had shoes, we set out…. Quick jog around the lot to pick up last arrival and avoid penalty Burpees, then across Regency for some Warm-arama: [Read More]

They lock the baseball fields when it rains

It was your typical Wednesday Morning Buffet. Several arrived early for a little Insomnia appetizer. The Ruckers and the Vespers all grabbed their food to go, and the rest of the SNS crowd dined heavily on Turkish Get Ups, Bropees and Absolution. With some Twerkins for dessert. And although we didn’t start with a Good Morning (sorry Nature Boy) we did end with a Have a Nice day. And a new word was created. [Read More]

Laying some Pipe with a Build-A-Bear VQ

30 Pax convened in the gloom, roughly 15 more than I expected. And they brought props! No, I did not tag everyone, and my apologies. Despite capturing the names immediately after COT, I have lost my notes. No FNG’s this day, let’s get started! Quick count-a-rama and we’re off to the Bocci parking lot at Kildaire and Lochmere for a warm-up! Warm-up: SSH Good Morning Dragon Pose Stretch, 10-count, swap 10-count 4-count calf-stretch Merkin’s - 10 each side Sir Fazio Arm Circles for good measure Thang 1: Mosey to the bottom of the parking lot, split the pax into two roughly equal parts [Read More]

An unofficial 4.2 miles; an Oofta sighting; and an unplanned shortcut

So my week-long Birthday Q (which by the way I thought was a thing) got off to a bumpy start. Great workout, plenty of miles, saw some new sites, just bad time management. Apparently there is no wiggle room with the 6:15 finish time. But I appreciate the PAX keeping me honest. Oh, and I told you to bring your gloves @Pet Sounds. Warm-Up Knowing time was going to be my biggest challenge, we circled up right there in the parking lot at exactly 5:30 for: Imperial Walker, SSH, Finkle Leg Swings, Hillbilly, Bobby Hurley [Read More]

4 x 4's

YHC arrived a few minutes early, excited to Q in the gloomiest gloom in Carpex on a Friday morning. I looked around and didn’t see a guy in a hockey mask with a machete, but I did see an FNG named Daniel, so he got the F3 disclaimer. As we got closer to 0545 I saw lots of PAX but no site Q’s. Finally Oofta rolled up, but without the flag. [Read More]

You never forget your first time

…that’s kind of true, but when in doubt just reference the backblast. On May 10th, 2017 a dude named Dice showed up to SNS on the invite of his buddy Jamie. It was weird because all the guys were calling him “Repeato,” never the less, on a brisk (to me at the time) 54 degree morning I logged my first Carpex beatdown at the hands of a one “Earhart.” Hello Kitty was born and I’ve mildly gravitated to F3 activities… [Read More]

Slippery When Wet... more like Star Wars Workout

I mean the AO has SW right in its initials. Too easy. Preblast Playlist After emerging from the gloom to the Imperial March, an FNG check resulted in all experienced PAX. Let’s go! Run over toward the greenway. Circle up in the lot for the warmup: 25 SSH 20 IW 15 Tempo Merkins 10 Hillbillies WELCOME TO DAGOBAH. Partner up. Luke will carry Yoda to the baseball field. Flipflop as many times as needed. [Read More]

Meow Miles at Krypto

YHC logged onto Google street view to check the logistics for the Regency loop before Q’ing Krypto for the first time (don’t worry, I’ve posted here more than twice). A solid group of 11 Pax arrived in the Gloom, some “complaining” that the 42 degrees needed to be a touch warmer. Don’t fret, my pet, we’ll warm up. No disclaimer, and we’re off onto the Regency Loop which included: Warm ups in the first lot (quick feet sorta stuff… high tempo) And then we just ran and stopped along the way for stuff including merkins, squats, planks, dips, etc. [Read More]
