Get your flow on

Five stalwarts ignored the impending rain and the specter of a Bartman Q to post at A-Team. It always rains at A-Team. YHC had visited the beach twice this weekend, once for business and once for pleasure. On the second trip, I was thinking “man, I’m really looking forward to BroGa tomorrow.” Then I remembered I had the Q. Well, if I couldnt’t go to BroGa, maybe I could bring some BroGa to Carpex. Vanilla String of Pearls 7/13/18

YHC is nearing the mid-point of the July Tour De Carpex and saw a Q opening back where it all began at The Premier North Cary Friday AO. After staying up all night with the Boys at Flacco’s 2nd F, 24 got up with the Men to workout. Chhanticleer and Largemouth got in a 4.something EC run (note that both were not seen at Flacco’s the night before). I’m confident Term Paper would have been on time, but that HIM stepped up to pick up Capt. Listen Up....I don't hear Pet Sounds

Date: June 13, 2018 Weather: Humid, 83 degrees, cloudy 40 Pax total, including 17 for Vespers. What a group! 5:45. No Pet Sounds (he did make Refinery). Burt takes the Q. Warm up: Mosey to the gate, head to other side of the gate for a standard warm up including 20 burpees, SSH, Merkins, Cotton Pickers, Good Mornings and Little Baby Jumping Jacks. Sprints up the hill (about 40 yards) with a prisoner run back down the hill. No Pull-ups, No Problem

YHC started the morning with a nice little fellowship run with Hello Kitty. Got back to the flag and the PAX were already gathering. Nice mix of vets and new guys and guys we haven’t seen recently. 05:45, let’s roll! Warm-Up Mosey over to the parking lot next to Power Line Hill and circle up for hillbillies, side straddle hops, burpees, Sir Fazios and plank jacks. The Thang Mosey over towards Power Line Hill but take a surprise right turn and head down the stairs to the baseball field. [Read More]

They lock the baseball fields when it rains

It was your typical Wednesday Morning Buffet. Several arrived early for a little Insomnia appetizer. The Ruckers and the Vespers all grabbed their food to go, and the rest of the SNS crowd dined heavily on Turkish Get Ups, Bropees and Absolution. With some Twerkins for dessert. And although we didn’t start with a Good Morning (sorry Nature Boy) we did end with a Have a Nice day. And a new word was created. [Read More]

Do Your Best!

YHC was serving as Senior Patrol Leader today. As with F3, Scouts is a volunteer organization. Specifically, Boy Scouts is led by youth, giving them their first taste at organization, service, leadership, and sometimes humility. Today was a lesson in all four for YHC. It felt like herding cats to get the group to start moving, not unlike any Scouting activity. Trouble was finding four volunteers to serve as Patrol Leaders. Stronger, Faster, Higher

F3 Scout Week! Today was the beginning of F3 Scout Week. You may be asking what is F3 Scout Week? Well, I am glad you asked! F3 Scout Week was an idea I had while sitting through a scout meeting a few weeks back. If you think about it, F3 and scouting have a lot of shared core principles including duty to God and country, focus on physical fitness, helping others, and brotherhood. [Read More]

Dos Toros

Saturday is coming up fast and no one has claimed the Phoenix Q. YHC checks with the co-site Q to see if it’s really available, it is, and we decide to co-Q. Disco Duck takes the first half, Texas Ranger takes the second. Here we go. Warm-Up Mosey over to the community center parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, Sir Fazios, plank jacks and mountain climbers. The Thang [Read More]

What the heck is an Octothreat

As the Twitterserve would have it, YHC and some of the fellas including Captain Insano got into a deep-cut thread over the weekend and thus was born the “Octothreat.” With the pressure of the entire F3 Nation, YHC set out to embark the PAX on the first-ever Octothreat. But first, another solid showing at Insomnia. YHC was looking for the easy way out before the Q on this morn, but the peer pressure pushed YHC into the 0505 start time (sorry to Angry Elf who showed up like a HIM at 0520 for recon). [Read More]

Vanilla on the rocks, with a splash of mist

Six men gathered in the purest of A-Team conditions: raining and 50 and a closed gate. Those of you who frequent A-Team know of what I say. Apex Cheddar Bo (since we now have an official Carpex Cheddar Bo) rarely shows up by 0545, and certainly not when God graces this earth with a cleansing rain. And man, that seems to happen about 3 out of every 4 A-Teams. With YHC’s knees aching from last week’s wind-sprint-o-rama at BH (courtesy of YHC’s ego), and with bone-on-bone Billy, a nice, leisurely pace was set for the warm-up.
