A-Team (6 Years Later)

The title of this backblast is a tip of the cap to Nabisco’s original backblast title “A-Team” six years ago. Just like his Q then, my Q today was flawlessly executed. 16 pax 6 years ago, 26 today (27 pax at COT having McCants join us - which is perfect as he was there 6 years ago with 75%) showed up to help YHC celebrate. I enjoy recreating this beatdown each year but with some modifications. [Read More]

Always On Time

13 men and 1 dog showed up to a flagless Claymore, but pledge allegiance to an imaginary flag and got to work. Warm-Up Mosey to the left side of the lot and circle up for various warm-up exercises, including imperial walkers (because we’re in Cary) and excluding hillbillies (because we’re not in Apex). Explain Wildcard, every time Crimson says “Wildcard!” we do five burpees. The Thang Mosey over to the tennis courts, count off 1s and 2s. [Read More]

Pearls on an Elastic String

It was a beautiful, crisp morning in the gloom. Eleven men set out to exercise. Much to the disappointment of the younguns, there were no respects wearing Depends. The younguns thought it would be an easy workout and they’d get a real workout later. They would learn differently soon. The rule of the day was if you arrived at the meeting spot before the Six was in, you were to circle back to Pick Up The Six so that all the PAX would arrive together. [Read More]

Relax / Recover / 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was lucky enough to be able secure the highly coveted Q for Apex’s new 45 Min AO: Off the Rails – wanting to align the workout with the site name I didn’t want to spend too much time planning. Here’s what we did: With 6 Pax at the flag we said the pledge and then mosey’d along the trail out behind the baseball field to a nice grassy opening I had spotted along a little EC. [Read More]

Full Metal Snip'n

Twenty-one PAX made it out to Full Metal Jacket Tuesday morning for an Election Day workout. It was my 1-year F3 anniversary and South Cary came to support. At 530 AM, we said the Pledge, and off we went. Warm up Jog over to the parking lot near the baseball field Good Morning Arm Circles (Front/Back) SSH Calf Stretches Merkins First » Two-circle DORA Mozy up to the main circle off the second entrance. Swinging Pipes

Beautiful crisp morning. YHC always trying to mix it up a bit and try new things and working to incorporate more stretching and mobility to keep me of the IR . Most of the Warmama was using PVC Pipes to get upper body loose for the Merkins and Pull Ups that awaited the PAX. Some liked it, some looked confused. Searching for Bradford's Ordinary

Yesterday YHC did some research on Bradford’s Ordinary…the town. If you’ve been around Carpex a little while you’ve probably been asked “why is it called Bradford’s Ordinary?” so I thought maybe we could take a stroll to the historic site of BO and get our learn on… Well it doesn’t exist. In the 1700s there was an Inn owned by John Bradford called Bradford’s Ordinary and so this area was just called Bradford’s Ordinary. [Read More]

Back in the Saddle

I’ve been trying to decide when i was ready to Q again and noticed a BO opening so figure that would be a great opp to get back in the saddle again. Solid group of 19 gathered in the parking lot ready to do some work. Burt recites the abbreviated version of the F3 mission and we are off. Mozy to random parking lot near the train tracks for a brief warm with no merkins, but with a on point Nature Boy Good Morning call. [Read More]

This Q reeks of BO

Let’s get things out of the way from the start. This was as thrown together a Q as I’ve pulled in a while. Was there an idea going into it? Sure. Did it involve more than “we’ll probably have a DORA”? Um… It all started about 14 minutes till 5. With intentions of meeting Coxswain for EC at 5:15, I was taking my sweet time preventing a Pet Sounds. Too sweet a time. [Read More]
