Lots O' Partner Work

With Peeping Tom Qing his farewell workout at SWW and Riptide offering “brownies” at Dazed and Confused YHC was surprised anyone other than the site-Q showed on such a morning. But that’s the glory of this group. HIMs come out to not only further their 1stf but to encourage the men who step up to lead them. Encouragement was certainly a well used tool during this workout as 9 pax push their limits for 45 minutes. [Read More]

Hotspot/Michelob 5-year F3-versary

25 HIM showed up at A-Team on the chilliest Monday morning in months to help Hotspot and YHC celebrate our 5-year F3-versary. Back in our day, A-Team was one of only 3 workouts per week in the Cary/Apex area, and there was no Carpex region as we were still part of F3 Raleigh. We’re very thankful to have been a part of the F3 growth in our area and also for the fellowship of all the Carpex PAX. [Read More]

One more lap!

Good weather brought 19 eagar PAX out this morning to A-Team. YHC took a quick warm up jog to stretch out since this was my first post in a week. After arriving back at the flag and stretching it was 5:44. Quick test of the PAX lead Crimson to provide the mission of F3 and Hotspot had to phone a friend of the disclaimer. Luckily Smokey was ready! After the pledge it was 5:45 and we were off! [Read More]

The Sharknado

The Sharknado. It has been a tradition for 2+ years at Bounty Hunters, the finest downtown Apex AO on Thursday mornings. This quarterly fitness test allows each PAX to test themselves with a variety of exercises and lap-running. 15 PAX showed up to withstand the Sharknado. With Rooney on the IR with a foot injury, he took all Sharknado materials to the community center and Imp ran point for the morning. [Read More]

Hotspot & Sooey were none-the-wiser

It has been a loooong time since I have Q’ed A-Team, so I thought I’d dig through the Backblasts to see what we did. As I was reading I thought this was a pretty good workout. Good enough to be repeated. And unless someone had a really good memory, maybe I can get away with it seeming “original.” The only two people who were there the first time were Hotspot and Sooey, and luckily they didn’t even notice. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

With the cool brisk October air in full effect, 21 PAX including 2 FNGs gathered at Hunterest of all Parks in anticipation. Some were wearing tanks, but more were not. First exercise, pledge of allegiance. Warm Up SSHs, Good mornings, Sir Fazio, Runner’s stretch, calf stretch, Plank jacks, and CFMs. Pre-Thang 33 burpees to the dulcet tones of AC/DC’s Brian Johnson singing Thunderstruck. The Actual Thang Split into 2 teams to execute the following: [Read More]

Groundhog Day in October

Monday of this week I was at A-Team and a few PAX brought it up to me that my DP Q was the day before the Odyssey and I should probably “take it easy on’em with the mileage..and the Mary.” Apparently our boy Squatter had put a hurtin’ on them last year at HIS DP Q the day before Odyssey and there was some griping or somethingorother… Being somewhat new to Q’ing, in the back of my head I was thinking “well, what the hell’s left? Franklinaversary - 5th edition

On the last Monday in September in 2014, YHC was privileged to be an FNG at an A-Team workout. Today, YHC took the opportunity of his anniversary to repeat his inaugural F3 workout, this time as the Q, just as I did on the last Monday in September 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Following the first time I participated in this workout (under the leadership of Denali), I couldn’t raise my arms above my head for 3 days and couldn’t walk properly for 6 days. [Read More]
