Smokey and the Bandit

Gloom. Respect. Drizzle. This am was another morning of all things great about F3. An awesome group of dudes…grateful for Smokey’s Q (which as always was organized/planned…and was comfortable with me chattering while he led his portion), the CD/Intimidator/Brody troika…the Dad, the Father in law and the newlywed, Birthday site Q - Open Out, GTL (the quiet, in shape tough dude), Free Bird (wears Cotten like Hermes), Sooner (who refered to me as sir, then quickly adjusted to Brah) and Michelob (almost slept in, but decided to run in instead…stud). RESPECT Ladders

Pulling into the Senior Center (an apt place to start for RESPECT Week, as so many pointed out - hardy har har), I could tell there was 24K magic in the air. Someone brought a Wal-Mark special fishing rod, an obvious nod to YHC’s fishing prowess. Some PAX were already sweating from Insomnia; some were sweating the impending beatdown they were about to receive; some took the easy way out and Vespered their way out of a beatdown; some rucked because, you know, running sucks and walking’s not enough. The 1%

In past wars, the war effort was a national effort. The entire country got behind both world wars and in Vietnam, the draft touched families across this land in all economic groups. For the war or against the war, the war effort was front and center at family dinner tables coast to coast. That was then. For my time in the military, the 80’s, who knew that was relative “peace time” for the American military. [Read More]

PRISONER RUN

17 PAX were led through the mean streets of Cary at B.O. YHC with the Q, a virgin one at that. With temps above 60, Hank Top Thursday was in full effect. RESPECT BURT graced us with his presence, along with his bag of gently used hanks. Shirts were changed and we were off. Warm Up: Mosey down Waldo, for an extended jog to the main circle at Fidelity. Butt Kickers and High Knees were added to the mosey to ensure all PAX were limber for the HALF special…more to come SSH, Cotton Pickers, Standard Merkins…. put that mumble chatter aside and commit to something

November 1st, 2017 One goal, and only one goal- stop the mumble chatter. Is that really a good goal, or is that a selfish request? Either way, I am the Q and took on the challenge. Luckily we had a FNG (welcome Tubeless and thanks Wrangler for bringing him out) which would inspire Burt to get warmed up. What really got Burt going was seeing the duct tape holding my shoes together. BOMBS around a Campfire

Ever since it’s gotten so that it stays dark well past 6:30, I haven’t seen many groups venture into the gloom murk pitch blackness that is North Cary Park. To hell with that - this is @F3DangerZone! So I set up a very cute campfire in the field to entertain the troops. After making sure everyone who wanted one had a headlamp, we’re off. "It Didn't Look That Big When We Started"

hill·ock ˈhilək noun a small hill or mound. synonyms:mound, small hill, prominence, elevation, rise, knoll, hummock, hump, dune;bank, ridge, knob;formaleminence"the lovely green hillocks in the distance" First, credit to Denali for the #twss quote (possibly paraphrased) that became the backblast title. We wrapped up our workout on the featured hillock near the Salem Pond Park parking lot, but there was oh so much more this PAX of 12 did on the first sub-50 degree morning in several months. Crowdsourcing Fail

You may have noticed yesterday that YHC began taking requests for this morning’s workout. And you may have seen a couple of our brethren putting some requests in. What you wouldn’t have seen is almost any of those requestors actually post at A-Team this morning. Instead, they either fartsacked, or Q’d at other sites. To you, fine gentlemen, know that the PAX loquaciously besmirched your name. YHC, on the other hand, just did exactly as he said. [Read More]

mis-Q-mmunication

14 Pax shook off The Odyssey hangover and took to a high tempo beatdown by YHC. (Here’s our Strava from Michelob) Some chatter on Twitter last night meant when YHC saw a white honda stroll in to the parking lot right after 0545, he wasn’t waiting… (Un)fortunately we have some HIMs in our region that waited on FF and brought him to our warmup spot. It was definitely the first time I’ve had to call an exercise while we wait on the 6 to get to the warm up circle haha!
