Burpees, Bears, and Blocks! Oh my!

For my VQ, I thought it best to combine some of my least and therefore most memorable workouts over my last six months in F3. The two Q’s who I got the most from was Banjo and Wahoo. These two Q’s provided the inspiration for burpees and blocks. In order to increase the alliteration in the title of the workout, I did some digging in the Exicon to find an exercise that combined bear crawls and cinder blocks. [Read More]

Thank Heaven for 7-11

Preamble Well the last time I worked out was the Krispy Kreme challenge almost 2 weeks ago. I’ve been doing some fantastic smart sacking (missing the 20’s and a good bit of rain) but my knee is feeling better than it has felt since July, so I was excited for this morning. But then I slept terrible, seriously, the night before the Q is like the night before a flight. I swear I wake up around 20 times to make sure I didn’t oversleep. [Read More]

Dang Near Purrfect Weather For The Duckman

February, sixty degrees, light rain, light wind, glorious conditions for a downtown Apex beatdown. Warm-Up Mosey across the tracks and over to the Apex United Methodist Church courtyard and circle up for hillbillies, Sir Fazios, cherry pickers and copperhead squats. The Thang 15 Carolina dry docks, 15 monkey humpers, 15 LBCs, take an abbreviated lap around the church, repeato dropping the count by one each round. Mosey back across the tracks to the front of Apex Baptist Church and count of into 1s and 2s. [Read More]

Your 2020 Dante's Peak Logo Contest Winner!

^ It’s the contest nobody knew existed… whipped this baby up in PowerPoint, Word Art and all… BOOM! Heavy rain the night before left the entire area quite damp. YHC had planned to work around the pond for the beatdown so when I arrived Torpedo and I ran back to make sure it wasn’t underwater. It wasn’t! We did find a good half a dozen HIMs on the pull up bars and joined in for some of the fun. [Read More]

Downtown Theology Tour

This is the first week of Disturbing the Peace’s new location. Hamm, one of the site Qs, went to check to see if anyone missed the memo and alas there was 1, so he pointed him in the right direction and we picked him up on a mosey through town. I was afraid folks would miss the old site, so I decided to do a fly by. We actually visited a few of the churches in the greater POGL area this morning. [Read More]

3rd Sooey-anniversary

In keeping with the theme for a 3 year anniversary, YHC had the Q for the 3rd time at A-Team on 1/27/2020, exactly 3 years after Crimson introduced YHC to F3 on 1/27/2017. Doesn’t seem like that long ago, then again it seems like a lifetime. Funny how time works. As fate would have it, my good pal Frisco asked if I would be interested in a co-Q. Seeing as Frisco has not posted in well over a year (or maybe just like 10 days but you can decide) YHC made the fatal mistake of letting Camp Frisco invade F3 and NOT alerting the PAX ahead of time. Just be ready!

Back in 2016, I decided to go to the gym the week after Christmas. Be committed and show up BEFORE all those people that start in January. I was on a mission to be less chubby and more healthy. Spin class two days a week. That was the answer! But Lifetime didn’t offer a morning class on Fridays at the Apex gym. Crimson had been pressuring nagging encouraging me to try his new workout group F3. [Read More]

Last Minute Q

Disclaimer- for those that have been to any one of my Q’s in the last year, I usually like to have at LEAST a couple days to write up my Weinke. With Headroom heading out of town and signed up to Q Lions Den that same day, he reached out if I could grab it for my future Q here. Without hesitation I grabbed the spot. 20 Pax arrived on time to find Headroom not here and that I have the Q. [Read More]

Welcome back Iron PAX

For YHC’s first Q in 2020, why not make it the premiere 90 minute workout on a Saturday in north west Cary? I decided I wanted to stay on campus and use coupons for the beat down. Then I remembered there were supposed to be cinder blocks hidden somewhere on site and thought of how many of the Iron PAX challenge workouts had used a block so there was my plan. [Read More]

We Have Liftoff

AO Launch Day. YHC was a bit nervous about attendance because there had been zero Slack hype for this event during the lead up. Despite that fact, a lot of folks somehow showed up to be part of the emergence from stealth mode. YHC knew something major was afoot when Ma Bell decided to again venture into “the eastern regions of his former kingdom” for not only the ME but an EC run taboot.
