Q-Drenaline

YHC was super pumped up with Q-Drenaline for his VQ. So pumped up that he initially got into the car this AM without his running shoes. So pumped up that he drew up a 2-sided weinke in 4-point font that was entirely unreadable in the early gloom. So pumped up that he was nearly made late for his own VQ while waiting for “Gonna Fly Now” from the Rocky Soundtrack to download, so that YHC could get into the proper mental/emotional state on the drive to FWD. The Dirty Dozen

In the gloom, 35 intrepid PAX (3 FNGs) gathered to discover what would happen in this week’s first VQ. YHC was celebrating completing 12 months of F3 goodness. The group took off doing the Smokey Shuffle up the hill to warm-ups. Warm-ups (12 count each) – SSH, Good Morning, Calf Stretch, Merkins, Mt. Climbers Thing 1 – The Dirty Dozen – LBCs at the bottom of the hill and Carolina Dry Docks at the top totaling 12 reps for each lap. [Read More]

Shank's "High Intensity" Workout

When: 7/28/17 QIC: Shank The PAX: Hermes, Angry Elf, Large Mouth, Joe Smith, Bartman, Perogi, Chanticleer, Sky Blue After a couple of months with F3 I did a “high-intensity workout” - after all, aren’t all of them high intensity? Well, I nearly passed out and promised I would never do it again, but today I was conquering my fear and created my own version of “high-intensity” at Danger Zone with the 8 men who joined me this morning. 360

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldD6SVbBQc Yep, just got back from Colorado, as my team qualified to compete in the USA Ultimate Frisbee National Championships. My team hadn’t lost a game since 2014; an unparalleled feat, which resulted in two world championships and one national championship. So when we lost in the quarterfinals by one point, we were certainly disappointed. We ended up 5th in the nation, so not too shabby, but we already were planning our return to greatness, which is exactly 360 days from today. [Read More]

Extra Spicy

Pre-BB In 1785, William Cowper wrote a poem he entitled, “The Task.” In it, Cowper wrote the famous idiom, “Variety is the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavor.” And so it was that SNS this morning was Extra Spicy. BB When the guy who first invited you to F3 asks for help, you help him. I gladly said “yes” when Water Wings asked for a Q sub today. [Read More]

A Bridge Too Far

I arrive at AO I normally don’t visit that often (I tend to go to FOD) but I do enjoy this site and the options it brings. 22 PAX show-up on time ready for another beat down. Welcome FNG Kyrie! Q starts by getting the guys to grab some curb and do a round of quick feet, a good way to warm up before the warm up. We head out running slowly around the corner for: [Read More]

2T3S

12 HIM came out to learn more about 2T3S. How does this simple statement impact our lives, our family and friends. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control 2T - Toughness Physically & Mentally - To serve our families and community as leaders we must prepare ourselves. It is not easy to get up at 5am (most) everyday and work ourselves to a pulp, suffering through a beatdown. [Read More]

Hitting and Running for the Cycle

It was so hot, I thought we were at Dante’s Peak….then I realized I only drove 2 mins to the AO….not 20 mins. The Insomnia extra credit boys (Large Mouth, Hermes, Callahan, Pet Sounds and PBX) came running follow my Mr. Rucker (Bartman) as we circled up to get started. Nice work men. 73 degrees, feels like 88, clear, no wind. Theme for today was baseball given the 2nd F Bulls outing on Sunday. [Read More]

Oh, the humanity!

Blue steel flashing, hot lead flying I wonder what it feels like when they’re dying Someday soon it might be my turn. Is it worth the money I earn? And it seems to me this is one helluva way for me to earn that pay The lyrics were coursing through my head all day Thursday as I thought about Qing Bounty Hunter. How could I live up to that? Well, let’s see. [Read More]

Oldies vs Youngies

12 PAX decided to get up 15 minutes early this morning. One of them was Burt…get a few Bond Brother brews in @burtcarpex and it’s easy to talk him in to posting to Kryptonite. Knowing this I thought it’d be fun to peg the Respects against the millennials (if they would just put their phones down.) Jog down the Koka Booth parking lots to the way back and circle up for warm up… [Read More]
